Introduction/specifics

Welcome to Happy Kids!

We are a small, family-run municipal daycare center with a capacity of 40 places, including 10 nursery places and 30 kindergarten places.

Our daycare center is open to all children between the ages of one and school age. Divided into three groups—the Moosflitzer for children aged one year and older, the Waldpiraten and Waldwichtel for children aged approximately 2.10 years to school age—the children live and experience their environment together with seven qualified staff members, laughing, playing, and creating shared memories.

Our educational focus is on nature and forest education, supplemented by practical life skills learning and individual development support.

Rooms

We place great importance on creating a child-friendly and inviting interior design. The children are actively involved in everyday life and can participate in various tasks depending on their level of development: preparing meals, setting the table, loading the dishwasher or designing educational areas and projects. Our rooms offer a wide range of possibilities for this and encourage independence and participation.

Outdoor Facilities

The natural outdoor area with its shady deciduous trees offers children a wide range of opportunities for play and discovery. Whether climbing, digging, playing in the mud or doing creative crafts with natural materials – there is plenty of space here for exercise, imagination and independent activity.

Thanks to the immediate proximity to nature, the children experience the seasons and different weather conditions very consciously. These direct experiences not only promote their health, but also their physical, social and emotional development. Our covered terrace allows the children to eat their meals outdoors in all seasons – protected and yet surrounded by nature.

Our educational goal is to inspire children to love nature – through sensory experiences, emotional connection and active exploration. In this way, they grow up to be mindful and responsible co-creators of their environment.

Food

Healthy eating is important to us. Once a week, we take a small group of up to 12 children to the weekly market to buy regional and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Breakfast and snacks are prepared together with the children every day, and once a week we bake bread together. We make sure that the food we offer is varied and good for the teeth.

Specifics

Our work combines nature and forest education with life-related and situation-oriented approaches. In our partially open concept, we promote independence, participation, and social learning.

Preparing children for school is particularly important to us: with the “Pirate Journey,” we playfully strengthen important basic skills such as language, motor skills, and concentration on a weekly basis.
