Introduction/specifics
"Sonnenschein"
Right in the middle of Werdau's green heart
"If you are very quiet, you can hear the woodpecker knocking on one of the big trees." The children prick up their ears and listen intently. Further back, a cheeky squirrel is snatching nuts from the bird feeder.
We see our daycare center as a place of security, experience and learning. Care is available from daycare age to 10 years of age (4th grade).
We want our children to get to know, explore, love and marvel at nature and the environment, to gain experience with all their senses and to master motor challenges over hill and dale. Through various offers, e.g. forest days, walks and projects, our children learn about different natural processes.
Through our beautiful outdoor area with a diverse tree population, many different species of birds (e.g. woodpeckers, nuthatches, blue and great tits), insects and even squirrels, we have the opportunity to be close to nature and to observe, explore and experience these constantly changing but always recurring natural events. We grow vegetables in our self-made raised beds, which we harvest together.
In our mixed-age home groups (nursery 1st - 3rd year, kindergarten 3rd - 7th year, after-school care 1st - 4th grade) the children experience themselves sometimes big, sometimes small, sometimes strong, sometimes helping, sometimes looking for help. Through these experiences, the children develop mutual understanding and mutual learning.
