Our day-care center should be a place of learning and living, where all children appreciate each other and learn together, for and from each other.

The integrative day care center is located in beautiful Werdau in the district of Steinpleis. In 1954 it was transformed from the manufacturer's villa into a children's facility. It is conveniently located, yet in a quiet side street near the city park. In our day-care center, up to 74 children are cared for in 5 groups of dwarfs.

Rooms

We want every single child to feel comfortable with us. Our rooms should support and stimulate the self-education processes. Therefore, the design of interesting spaces that can be actively experienced is a very important prerequisite of our pedagogical work. Each group room, adjoining room and function room offers the children different areas that are tailored to their changing needs, interests and age groups.

Outdoor Facilities

Our day care center is surrounded by a large playground that is used extensively by all groups in all seasons and in all weathers. The outdoor area is an area designed according to the needs of the children with various adventure and play areas. There are a variety of play stations where movement and senses are required and encouraged.

Our outdoor area creates a variety of manageable, natural habitats in which children can perceive themselves and the environment/contemporary world. The children go independently and curiously on journeys of discovery.

Food

In our day-care center we value a balanced, varied and healthy diet. Breakfast is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. to give the little ones a sense of belonging to the group and to start the day together. Parents take care of breakfast, and give the children sandwiches, fruit and vegetables in a lunch box. Our day-care center provides all children with unlimited amounts of still water and unsweetened (children’s) tea every day. Lunch is also taken together from around 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The children are involved in setting the table and instructed to take their own food. You decide what and how much you want to eat. Through regular rituals such as table sayings and table talk, the children learn a shared eating culture. They try the food together, discover new flavors and train their senses. Lunch is delivered fresh every day by the caterer "Zur Alten Weberei". The dishes include fresh ingredients, regional meat, (if possible seasonal) fruit and vegetables. In the afternoon at around 2:00 p.m. there is an afternoon snack for the children, which the parents also prepare to give away.

Basics

Our goal is the holistic development of each individual child. We accept every child for who they are. We would like to pick it up at its individual "location", accompany it, stimulate it, arouse curiosity, let it develop self-awareness and self-confidence.

The day-care center complements and supports the upbringing of the child in the family. We strive to promote the child and its development holistically and appropriately for its age. Every child should experience individual and optimal support. For most children, our facility is the place where they come from the family and take their first steps into public life. A new, important phase of life begins - not only for the child, but also for its parents. We would like to make this section pleasant for everyone involved by dealing with us in a warm and loving manner. We see our day care center as a place of security, experience and learning. A structured daily routine and our rhythm serves as a framework that gives the children orientation and also conveys security, consistency and stability, but also sets limits.

Our team consists of pedagogical specialists with various additional qualifications and supplementary pedagogical staff. We are committed to bringing our strengths, skills and different life and professional experiences to everyday educational work for the benefit of the children. We support each other, work together and trustingly on the set tasks and goals.
