Basics

Welcome to the kindergarten St. Michael - Entrance group with follow-up group
At the beginning of the kindergarten period we welcome our youngest in the caterpillar group. All children between the ages of 2-4 years are cared for here. Arriving and feeling good in the group is the top priority. Clear structures in everyday life and reliable reference persons help the children to get involved in the adventure kindergarten and to find their way around. The free game, the morning circle with its recurring songs, finger and circle games, offers in small groups (e.g. gymnastics, creative offers, ...) and the romping in the garden, give the children orientation and security. Over time, curiosity will lead to the expansion of the range of motion, e.g. to get to know the butterfly group or to conquer the movement construction site. Each child sets their own pace and is always accompanied by his/her reference person. Your child changes from the caterpillar to the butterfly group at the age of approx. 4 years, the time depends on the level of development of the child or on the space offered in the group of the older children. In addition to the morning circle, in which we welcome each other with songs or games and discuss the daily routine, free play also plays an important role here. The children now have the opportunity to get the workbench ‘driver's license’. Large and small projects are offered, among other things, for the annual cycle and are based on the interests and inclinations of the children.

"For adults, the task is to provide children with appropriate and demanding environments in which they can engage freely. In targeted observations of free play, it is possible to see which topics the child is currently dealing with and how to further support them on their learning path. But the biggest challenge is to see the value of the game in itself."

Quality Assurance

Our kindergarten sees itself as an educational institution where ...
... we give the children the opportunity to develop individually as part of the open free play in generously designed play, movement and creative areas.
...we convey Christian values in everyday life.

... we orientate ourselves on the interests and needs of the children and create projects together.
... children are specifically supported according to their age and level of development.
... we offer the children various, generous exercise events, e.g. through weekly gymnastics lessons, a separate exercise room, play in the large garden, etc.
... Language support is also an important element for us, which takes place in daily interaction.
... we experience, observe and get to know nature with the children. This happens, among other things, during our nature and activity days, which take place on Fridays.
... we accompany and promote the individual development of the children in a trusting cooperation with parents.

Our work is based on the ‘Orientierungsplan für Bildung und Erziehung für die Baden-Württembergischen Kindergärten‘ and the ‚Qualitätsprofil der Kath. Kindergärten in der Diözese Rottenburg-Stuttgart‘.

Teamwork with school

Cooperation between primary school and kindergarten
We cooperate with the Praßbergschule in Wangen, with which an annual plan is drawn up at the beginning of the kindergarten year. Within the framework of the cooperation between the kindergarten and the primary school, an exchange on the level of development of the child takes place both in joint discussions and in one-to-one discussions. A teacher of the school comes to the kindergarten at regular intervals for observation. The common goal is to create a seamless transition of educational biography for children.

Teamwork with parents

Educational partnership
The basis of our work is a good and trusting cooperation with you. Through regular exchange, the experience of the child in the kindergarten and at home is linked. The following activities for and from parents are offered in our kindergarten:

Admission interview
In one-to-one conversations, first contacts are established between the parents and the kindergarten staff. Parents find out about our pedagogical focus, daily routine and other important information.
Parents' evening
At the beginning of the kindergarten year, dates and information for the current kindergarten year are passed on and the parents' advisory board is elected. Thematic parents' evenings are offered as required.
Parents' Advisory Board

The Parents' Advisory Board, as a link between parents and pedagogical professionals, promotes and supports the cooperation between kindergarten, parental home and institution.
Development talk

Once a year we invite each family to a conversation to talk about the development and well-being of their child in kindergarten and at home. In addition, you can arrange a meeting with us at any time.
Door and fishing conversation
Here, short and important information is exchanged when the parents drop off or pick up their child.
Parental cooperation
Parents are actively involved in the organisation of festivals and promotions, e.g. cake sales, Christmas market, etc.
Parental surveys
Your opinion is important to us! Surveys are held at regular intervals to analyse the needs and wishes of families. We are always open to suggestions, criticism and wishes.
Parental information
Important information you receive

... from the Michels Post (dates, information, news, children's pages, pages for parents)
... on the "Info-Wall" in the foyer
... the news outside the group rooms.

Specifics

Special days with us in the kindergarten
Gymnastics day

Once a week every child in the kindergarten does gymnastics. Please make sure your child wears comfortable gym clothes on this day and provide them with sports shoes - preferably gymnastics shoes.

Story Day
Wednesday is our Story Day. On this day, a new story or a new book is read and discussed with the children in the morning circle or in small groups.

Kindergarten library
We have our own kindergarten library. Every Thursday, the children can borrow or return books.

Birthday
For each of our children it is a special and important event to be able to celebrate their birthday in the community with games, singing and music. It would be nice if you brought a little something with you as dessert to help shape your child's birthday party. For the birthday party, the caterpillar Rudi visits the caterpillar group and the butterfly Karl-Heinz the butterfly group. They deliver birthday wishes and a small gift.

Nature and activity days
Every Friday we go out into nature. We experience nature up close, observe animals and plants and get to know nature as a completely new and diverse "playground".

‘Big children’s hour’
Once a week, “Big children’s hour” takes place for the pre-school children. At first it is about the feeling a belonging to the group and the question what it means to be a red butterfly child and what tasks this entails. In further sessions we deal with the interests of the children and discover for example the first letters of the alphabet in our ‘learning factory’.
