Educational Concept
Nursery:
In the nursery group, there are 10 children aged 1-3 years. After individual acclimatization (Berlin model), the children, with the help of their key caregivers, experience community outside the family for the first time. A well-thought-out and ritualized daily routine gives the children a sense of security and comfort. Individual needs are always taken into account. A carefully designed transition facilitates the move to kindergarten.
Kindergarten:
Our kindergarten is semi-open. That means the free play time is designed to be open. All rooms are available to all children, taking into account rules that have been developed together. Each room has a name and a specific function. Interest groups form during play, from which friendships grow and are nurtured. Being active in the community helps the child find and enjoy their place. It is important to us that children encounter and help shape an atmosphere in which they can feel comfortable.
Nevertheless, each child belongs to a main group in the kindergarten. After the free play time ends, the group-internal part of the day begins. Eating together and circle time strengthen the sense of belonging to the group. The educators from the group (primary caregivers) provide security and convey a feeling of safety outside the family.
There are cross-group activities and projects in which the children can participate. For example,Creative workshop, preschool, physical education, experiments, picture book viewing, Kamishibai, and cooking/baking. To accommodate the children's need for movement, we spend as much time as possible in the garden. As a Protestant institution, children can find guidance in the Christian faith that allows them to develop their own religious identity. Daily prayers at meals, church festivals throughout the year, monthly services for our daycare children, and stories from the Bible bring community to life. The framework plan for education and upbringing, with its 6 fields of education and development, serves as the basis for our work with the children.
