Introduction/specifics

The large day care “Ankerplatz” is located on the upper floor of a single-family home on “An der Apotheke 6”.

We, Svenja Knie and Claudia Kapp, are self-employed childminder who look after up to eight children aged 1 - 3 years who are present at the same time.

For us, regular training is very important. Equally important to us are the reflection on our educational work and the constant development of our concept.

Daily Schedule

This is what a day with us looks like:

•     Arrival of the children
•     Free play and activities
•     Morning circle
•     Breakfast together
•     Free play inside or outside
•     Lunch together (if desired)
•     Rest period (nap)
•     Snack (fruit)
•     Play or activities

Basics

We see each child as an active, competent, serious personality who develops his or her movements and play independently out of an inner drive and his or her own motivation, and whom the adult meets with attentiveness and respect.

Safety and reliability are important to us in our work.

Cooperations

We cooperate with the Twist Family Center, the Moorpiraten, the daycare centers in the community of Twist, and with various associations.

Opening up into the social space is a great enrichment of our work.

Teamwork with parents

Parents are their child's experts.

For us, parents are the ones who know their children best. Parents can tell us a lot about what the child needs to feel comfortable. And parents have an idea of what they want for their child. This is where we listen carefully.

We are in regular conversation with the parents. It is important for us to keep each other informed. We consider this very valuable for the child's development and this contributes to a good educational partnership.
