The facility

Our facility is located in beautiful Wahlwies, the largest district of the town of Stockach with approx. 2,100 inhabitants.
The kindergarten is located directly below the church next to the parish center. A large parking lot is available behind the parish center.

A little history...

The kindergarten was inaugurated in 1968 at Aachgrund 11. Until 1978, the facility was run by nuns. Since 1979, it has been run by state-certified educators.
From September 2004 to September 2005, the kindergarten was renovated and modernized. After reopening, it was given its current name
“Katholischer Kindergarten St. Leonhard” (St. Leonhard Catholic Kindergarten).

Basics

Our view of children
‘Every child – a good thought from God.’
This guiding principle shapes our daily actions and our attitude towards each individual child. Children are the most precious thing we have – unique human beings, wanted, created, accepted and loved by God. Every child is a gift from God, important and valuable to our community.
Every child is an independent personality with their own special life story, individual abilities, characteristics and talents. We treat every child with respect, appreciation and attentiveness. In an atmosphere of trust, they can feel accepted and grow and develop at their own pace. We see every child as an active participant in their own development – as a researcher, explorer and inventor who is capable of learning, creative and eager to learn.
In line with the principle ‘No attachment, no education’ (Gorden Neufeld), we understand emotional security and loving relationships as the basis of all learning. Children need freedom to act independently, but also boundaries within which they can safely orient themselves and form relationships.

Our educational work is based on Maria Montessori's philosophy: every child has a unique seed within them. Our task as educators is to recognise, guide and nurture this individual potential so that the child can grow into their God-given personality.
We plan educational programmes and activities that tie in with the children's interests and needs, and create a variety of learning situations during free play. In doing so, we provide impulses and stimuli that enable self-directed learning and independent exploration – always in line with the motto: ‘Help me to do it myself.’

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance

To ensure high quality and further development, the results and processes of educational, care and teaching activities are regularly evaluated through, among other things:

- Peer feedback and team reflections
- Educational team days
- Regular training for all educational staff
- Staff development meetings

Teamwork with parents

Parental involvement

Once a month, you will receive a newsletter containing all important information and details of any changes or upcoming events.

A parents' evening is always held at the beginning of the nursery year in September. Depending on demand, a themed parents' evening or an extra evening for parents of pre-school children is offered in the spring.

Once a month, we offer a visit day for parents per group, where you can accompany your child through a kindergarten day and gain an insight into our work.
The list of dates is always posted on the group information boards.
In addition, you are entitled to a development meeting at least once a year, or more often if necessary.

We want to create a trusting educational partnership, supported by informal chats whenever necessary.
