Approach

MIS promotes excellence in learning and individual student growth and development through

  • Outstanding teachers, many of whom are IB authors, examiners, curriculum leaders and workshop leaders.

Languages

  • English is the language of instruction. All Early Childhood (EC) teachers speak German and English.
  • English language support is provided for students with varied English language proficiency in our Junior School (EC 4/5 - grade 4) and Middle School (grades 5-8).
  • German is taught as part of the curriculum for students in all grade levels.
  • Additionally, students from Early Childhood (EC) to grade 12 can access an after school Multilingual Learning Programme to help them maintain the language(s) spoken at home.

All students can take part in the After School Activities programme:

  • Availability: Monday-Thursday, 15:15-16:15.
  • The activities programme has three areas: Arts, Clubs and Non-Competitive Sports.

Overview

The school is located 20km south of Munich, near Lake Starnberg.

If using a navigation system, please enter “Buchhofstrasse” or "Munich International School," which will direct you to Buchhofstrasse. There is no street number for the School. Please look for our parking lot on the left hand side.

Coming from Munich

  • Take the motorway south, in the direction of Garmisch (Autobahn A95, E5339).
  • After 10km, the motorway splits. Take the right fork, in the direction of Starnberg (A952).
  • After 3-4km, take the exit Percha, shortly before the motorway ends in Starnberg.
  • Follow the exit round and turn left at the traffic lights, in the direction of Wangen.
  • After climbing the hill, you will see the entrance to the car park on the left hand side of the road.
