Daily Schedule
Daily routine
Everyday life in the Waldorf kindergarten is characterized by rhythm and repetition. The structured daily routine and the repetitive rituals and activities give the child security, safety and orientation.
From 7.30 a.m., we welcome our children in a prepared and quiet room that gives them time to settle in and find their bearings. The day begins with free play, where children can process what they have experienced and interact intensively with others.
Free play is accompanied by inner involvement and external activity by adults. During this time, various manual and domestic activities take place, which the child imitates in its play or encourages it to join in. The activities are of various kinds, such as sewing, embroidery, woodwork at the workbench, seasonal activities such as harvesting apples, making jam, threshing grain, grinding and so on.
We prepare breakfast together with the children every morning. A wholesome, healthy diet is very important to us. The dishes change daily, but are repeated weekly, for example we bake bread rolls every Thursday.
Afterwards, we tidy up the room together. In a morning circle, songs, finger plays and round dances allow us to experience the course of the year in nature. The children slip into the various gestures with wonder and joy.
Afterwards, we gather for breakfast together. Here we enjoy the cozy atmosphere of eating together and sharing all kinds of experiences.
In the free play time that follows, all three groups meet in the garden, regardless of the weather. The children's relationship with nature and the elements is very important to us.
At 12 noon, each group meets for story time. Depending on the group, this is followed by a snack or lunch. And while in the VÖ groups the kindergarten day comes to an end afterwards, in the GT group, after a lunch break, the afternoon is spent together again in free play or with voluntary activities.
Depending on the group, there are weekly recurring activities such as watercolor painting, eurythmy or cooperation with the elementary school.
