Introduction/specifics
The Wacholderweg Family Center promotes respect for children's individuality, based on a humanistic and democratic worldview as the fundamental approach to educational work. Children are seen as architects of their own development, exploring and experiencing the world with their energy, curiosity, creativity, and imagination.
The educational staff support children by creating spaces, situations, and conditions that enable them to learn about the world, develop trust, and face their environment. Movement has a special significance at the Wacholderweg daycare center. Findings from developmental research support this concept, as intensive movement is fundamental to all skills.
In addition, projects are used to develop everyday skills that children need to interact with their environment. This is expanded upon through play activities, in particular building games and role-playing games, as well as discovery and exploration games.
The social aspect – “togetherness” – is reflected in various contexts. These include the morning circle, theater, meals, excursions, and celebrations.
Trusted cooperation with parents is a matter of course for the Wacholderweg daycare center. As a family center, the Wacholderweg daycare center also offers additional services to support parents in their everyday lives.
A detailed description of the educational work can be found in the facility's concept and the provider's concept under “Further Information.”
