Basics
Settling in: We give your child time to arrive!
Our taster afternoon outside of opening hours takes place close to your child's first day of kindergarten in the U3 area. This is an opportunity for you to get to know your child's primary teacher and the premises. You will have the opportunity to clarify any open questions. During the settling-in period, the aim is to establish a basis of trust between you as parents and us as educators and to gain your child's sympathy.
The goal is to keep your time with your child as short as possible during the settling-in phase. As soon as your child stabilizes in the process of detachment, you as parents will leave the daycare premises if possible. Important: You must remain on call.
Educational partnership: working together for strong children
In order to be able to accompany and support the development of your children in the best possible way, we attach great importance to a continuous, appreciative and, above all, trusting exchange. Please inform us of any changes or problems in the family environment. In this way, we can respond appropriately to your child's needs at all times.
It is especially important that you give us feedback if the pediatrician has diagnosed a contagious illness. In this way, we can inform the educators and raise awareness among the other parents by posting notices. In order to provide you with insight and information from the groups, there is an information window of the groups at the respective entrance (for more details see "Public Relations").
In order to exchange information about your child's development, we currently invite you to development meetings in writing, by telephone or by video conference. However, if you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time. Likewise, we are very happy to receive suggestions and resources from you, which you can share and offer to both the daycare, the Parent Advisory Council, and the Friends.
Pedagogical focus: We make the most of every situation!
We work according to the situational approach. A morning circle takes place in each group. This daily ritual allows the children to start the day together. It serves as a welcome and provides the children with an overview of the presence of their friends and teachers and gives them the opportunity to participate in the planning of the day. This is individual in all groups and adapted to the themes. Of course, the routines in the groups for children under three years of age (U3 groups) differ from those in the groups for children three years and older (Ü3 groups).
One of our special features is the transition from the U3 groups to the Blue, Purple or Yellow groups. Each child who is transferring visits the group to which he or she is transferring beforehand in order to get to know the staff and children. During this time, the child is accompanied by a reference teacher, who withdraws as the child becomes more secure. In this way, your child gradually becomes familiar with the new environment, so that you as parents do not have to accompany the process.
In our Red and Green Groups, the main focus is on language and movement. Since children come to us from the age of one, they can gain many skills in movement and language. Therefore, we are careful to provide enough space for the children in all groups. To this end, we have an outdoor area that is accessible to all groups. In addition, each group goes on regular outings.
In the daily routine there are many offers and related learning effects for the children. For this reason, they need a break. We would like to make this possible through the quiet hour. Many children who come from the U3 groups, where sleeping starts at 12 o'clock, master the new circumstances with more children and new experiences in the Ü3 groups with full vigor. Especially for them, a short break in the day is important to recharge their batteries.
For our oldest children, who will soon be leaving the daycare center, a fixed day is scheduled in the weekly schedule for preschool. Due to Corona, we have divided the group, which is actually composed of the children of the whole house. Usually the children of the Blue and Purple groups have preschool first, followed later by the children of the Yellow group. Cooperation with the school is currently very limited due to Corona.
Participation: Children are independent personalities
Our goal is to take children with their needs, concerns and issues seriously, to support and accompany them. We achieve this, for example, through the following activities:
- Morning circle: The children bring in their circle and finger play wishes, etc.
- Course of the day: Ideas for projects and activities develop through the input of the children. We encourage their curiosity and desire for discovery. Depending on their age, the children support us in the day's activities, for example by fetching the food trolley, setting the table, etc.
- Conflict situation: We find solutions together by
- setting boundaries (stop signs)
- developing compassionate gestures (How can I do something well? e.g. by petting, fetching cold pack, etc.).
- Sleep ritual: We take individual rituals into account (e.g. cuddly toy, pacifier, etc.).
- Cleanliness education: Children are allowed to choose the person accompanying them when changing diapers and going to the toilet.
Healthy daycare: So that the mind can develop more easily!
Care and self-care of the children as well as the teachers help to create a balance between activity and regeneration. That's why we design retreats and allow for a quiet hour every day.
Self-care and health also include a healthy meal. For this purpose, we are provided with hot lunch from a caterer. We also offer the children water at all times.
We support a healthy body through exercise opportunities, in the fresh air on the outdoor grounds, through walks or through gymnastics.
To protect everyone's health, this also includes having their parents pick up children who feel physically unwell and appear ill while they are with us. Likewise, we stay home when we are sick.
Among many other tasks of a healthy daycare center is also diaper changing assistance, which takes place with calmness, patience and empathy.
