Closing days	Die Einrichtung ist, aufgrund von Fortbildung, 2 Tage während der Zeugnisferien geschlossen sowie 3 Wochen in den Sommerferien zzgl 2 Fortbildungstage. Zwischen Weihnachten und Neujahr ist die Einrichtung ebenfalls geschlossen und an zwei beweglichen Ferientagen.

Introduction/specifics

Werschenrege is one of six villages in the municipality of Ritterhude in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony. The village has around 400 inhabitants. Werschenrege forms a village community with the village of Lesumstotel (approx. 820 inhabitants), which has a joint church in Werschenrege and a joint village community facility in Lesumstotel. Werschenrege is located in the so-called bacon belt of Bremen. Our Werschenrege daycare center is located here in a rural and idyllic setting.

We are a two-group daycare center in which a family atmosphere and individual care are very important to us. Every day, we live in and with nature and enable the children in our care to live out their natural urge to move.

Furthermore, diversity is lived, respected and tolerated, and each child is supported, accompanied and encouraged in their identity development. All lifestyles are welcome in our house.

Children aged 1-3 years are cared for in the sparrow group (crèche) and children aged 3-6 years in the meadow group (elementary group).

Rooms

Our daycare center is divided into two floors:

The elementary group (meadow group) is located on the first floor. The children can use all the rooms there - the group room, corridor, sensory room and kitchen. Age-appropriate activities are offered in the individual areas.

The crèche (sparrow group) is located on the upper floor. Here, too, there is a group room, a bedroom, a corridor and a bathroom. These rooms are also available to all children if required.

Our room concept encourages free use and takes into account the different ages and developmental stages of the children.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor area is also separated according to age: there is an area for the crèche children and one for the elementary children, each suited to the children's development and needs.

It offers the children plenty of space for creativity and movement. They can explore, discover and help shape things, for example in the vegetable garden. It is important to us that the children are motivated to try out and discover something “new”. This situation develops a positive attitude towards life, which will be of great importance throughout their lives.

Daily Schedule

A structured daily routine is a central component of our educational work. Recurring routines offer the children orientation and create security and trust in everyday life through regularity. Fixed structures help the children to find their way around, strengthen their self-confidence and promote a positive group feeling. A special part of our day is the regular morning circle.

Food

Lunch is delivered fresh daily by a caterer. Shared meals are an important part of the program and offer space for peace, community and enjoyable meals. The children in the elementary group are involved in preparing the tables in small groups - this allows them to take responsibility and experience the process as part of an appreciative community.

Basics

At our facility, we work according to the situational approach. This means that the starting point of our educational work is the needs, interests and individual stage of development of our children.

Our educational work is always related to the children's life situations. Through intensive observation of the individual child, as well as the group as a whole, the professionals can recognize and perceive what is of interest to the children, for example. Based on these observations, situations are selected by our staff team.

The children have the opportunity to develop holistically and are given plenty of space to move, play freely and discover.

Employee

Our facility employs seven educational specialists who are equally responsible for looking after the children. One specialist also manages the daycare center.

Additional Offerings

The Ridder music school brings music to our daycare center! As part of early musical education, the children playfully discover the world of sounds, rhythms and instruments.

Our work is based on the Lower Saxony education and orientation plan.

Cooperations

It is very important to our team to maintain close cooperation with various institutions, both in our immediate vicinity and throughout the district. These include, among others, the library, the sports club, the fire department, the district itself, the youth welfare office, the church, the health department and the elementary school in the region.

Teamwork with school

A continuous, cooperative exchange with the relevant elementary school is an integral part of our educational work and supports a successful transition to school.

Teamwork with parents

Trusting, open and respectful cooperation with parents is very important to us. Parents are the most important cooperation partners for us, because the best possible development of the children can only succeed in close cooperation. We are therefore in constant communication with parents.
