Introduction/specifics

The daycare center is a small two-group facility run by the municipality of Ritterhude. It is located next to the Ritterhude all-day school in Alt Ritterhude. In the elementary group, around 22 children aged three to six are looked after by two educational specialists. In the crèche group, 10 children aged one to three are looked after by two educational specialists. From Monday to Thursday we work according to the closed concept. On Friday, we open our doors so that the children can decide for themselves which group they would like to be in.

Rooms

The elementary group has a group room with its own kitchenette, an adjoining room, the children's bathroom and a cloakroom. The outdoor area is accessible from the group room and is separated from the crèche children's area by a gate.

The crèche group has a group room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a children's bathroom and a multi-purpose room, which is used for eating meals.

The multi-purpose room is also used by the elementary group. This is where the preschool group takes place, which starts after the fall vacations. Activities and small group work can also take place here. 

Outdoor Facilities

The outdoor railing of the elementary group is directly connected to the group room. It has a sandpit, a playhouse, paving stones for driving vehicles and play equipment that promotes the children's motor skills. 

The outdoor area of the crèche group is accessible from the multi-purpose room. This also has a sandpit and paving stones for driving vehicles. A playhouse with a slide has also been installed here. 

Food

There is an open breakfast in the elementary group. The children decide for themselves when and with whom they want to have breakfast. There are breakfast chains with pictures of the children so that everyone can keep track.

Breakfast is eaten together in the crèche group.

Lunch is eaten by the whole group in both groups. We order lunch from a caterer.

Basics

In our daycare center, the situation-oriented approach and the promotion of independence and self-realization of the children are in the foreground.

The situation-oriented approach is geared towards the current living environments, interests and needs of the children. This encourages active participation in everyday life at the daycare center. Through targeted activities, projects and participation in all tasks that arise, the children learn to make decisions, take responsibility and act independently. Through sponsorships, the children support each other and also take responsibility for themselves and the younger children. 

Cooperations

Every year, we visit the volunteer fire department in Ritterhude. In addition, the police, the dentist and the tooth fairy visit us once a year. 

Teamwork with school

There is a cooperation agreement between the daycare centers of the municipality of Ritterhude and the all-day elementary school in Ritterhude. The children start the preschool group within the daycare center after the fall break. The pre-school children also visit the school and take part in festivals organized especially for the pre-school children.
