Current information

Introduction/specifics

In our 3-group Protestant kindergarten Wiesenstrasse, 70 children aged 3 - 6 years can be cared for and supported in friendly group and functional rooms. A partially open concept provides the children with a wide range of experiences in movement, action, learning and play.

In addition to the regular groups, which offer the children a fixed group affiliation, the children can freely and independently choose activities and educational programmes in the corresponding functional rooms during free play time - according to their interests.

One focus of our work is the child-orientated teaching of Christian values. The children in our centre should experience community and learn that they are accepted by God just as they are. Christian values such as love of neighbour, appreciation, acceptance, respect, responsibility and honesty are the basis for good, communal interaction.

Rooms

The children can gain learning experiences in stimulatingly designed functional rooms and areas.

Basics

We assume that every child follows their own developmental path. Every child has their own way of learning, their own pace.

The child should be able to make their own experiences, try things out, make mistakes and ‘detours’ and practise. Learning happens through independent action. We create the necessary freedom for this.

We welcome every child. We value the diversity of children and families as an enrichment for our kindergarten.

We are guided in our educational activities by democratic and Christian values. These principles determine our work with the children, the educational partnership with parents and families, the co-operation within the team and the co-operation with our provider.

Cooperations

We cooperate with the Protestant parish of Remshalden, local schools and technical colleges and take part in public events. We also work with counselling centres, support centres and therapeutic facilities, as well as the Remshalden local authority's specialist curative education service.

We see the Grunbach primary school and the kindergarten for 6-7 year olds as important, regular co-operation partners.

Specifics

In our daily Christian interaction, we endeavour to treat each other with respect and are open to other religions, world views and families from different backgrounds.

In our devotions, the children listen to Bible stories and we sing and pray together. We celebrate Christian festivals such as Easter and Christmas and celebrate Thanksgiving with the children and families in a family church service.

Another focus of our pedagogical work is on musical experiences.

In MUSIMO, the 4-5 year olds experience the free use of basic musical elements through language and movement. The children sing and make music with simple instruments and experience the musical experience in the community. They experience their bodies as ‘instruments’ and experience musical impressions and sensations in a variety of ways through sounds, melodies and rhythms.

In rhythmics, the 5-6 year old children are in a field of experience in which they are challenged holistically and in their presence, i.e. all senses are addressed and the children can practise their physicality, expand their cognitive abilities, strengthen their ego and develop their social skills.

In the Falkentreff, the children in the last year of kindergarten are guided through a wide variety of activities to work independently and with concentration for longer periods of time. Here we try to address the children in all areas of development, e.g. painting, handicrafts, cutting and folding work for fine motor skills, categorisation games to differentiate perception, experiments,...

Children have a great urge to move. To fulfil this, there is a daily garden time. The children can run, climb, balance and ride vehicles in the garden.

On exercise day, we offer exercise programmes with large and small equipment in age-homogeneous groups. These take place in the kindergarten and PGH rooms as well as in the gymnasium.

Projects

Our programmes are geared towards the child's individual stage of development and group processes. We offer the children these experiences both during free play time and in supervised activities and/or projects. In order to enable different learning experiences, programmes/intensive work takes place in age-homogeneous and mixed-age groups.
