OUR MOTTO
"Children are like flowers. You have to bend down to them.
If you want to recognize them."

Friedrich Froebel

PEDAGOGICAL FOCUS

-We see each child as an individual with an independent personality, which we treat with appreciation, respect and love in the kindergarten
-A structured everyday life / weekly routine that gives the children orientation for self-determined planning.
And that's also important to us

And that's also important to us

-Participation of the children: the children have the right to participate in various situations.
-Situation-oriented work
-Physical education: through exercise offers integrated into everyday life, the "movement corner" in the kindergarten or weekly gymnastics in the adjacent community center.
-Language support program

-Close to nature: We go out into nature a lot, into the garden, on walks or our regular nature days / forest week.
-Free play: the children learn through play, an appealing design of the premises is just as important to us as voluntary offers and the social interaction that the children learn.
-Parent work, including the joint parties, parents' evenings as well as regular exchange and parent meetings

Introduction/specifics

Our kindergarten is located in Buoch, a small suburb of the municipality of Remshalden. It is 519m above sea level and is approx. 7 km from the town center, so it is mainly attended by children from the town.

Our kindergarten consists of one group and offers space for a total of 22 children. Children are looked after from the age of 2 until they start school.

Our VÖ kindergarten is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. Our drop-off time is from 7:30 to 9:00 am. At lunchtime there are two pick-up times to choose from. The first pick-up time at 12:30 and another flexible pick-up time from 13:15 - 13:30.

Our motto "Children are like flowers. You have to bend down to them if you want to recognize them" comes from Friedrich Fröbel and reflects not only our logo, but also our attitude towards the children.

We want to treat them as equals, they should grow at their own pace, but also receive the care and appreciation that suits them.

Rooms

The kindergarten is spread over two floors. On the lower floor there is a building corner, a creative area, a reading area, a role play area and a material and thematically changing area. There is a second level in the group room.

On the upper floor there is a cozy corner, a music corner and a climbing wall. This area is also used as a construction and movement area.

Meals are prepared together with the children in the kitchen every two weeks.

Gymnastics takes place once a week in the adjoining community hall.

Our room design and choice of materials is highly stimulating in order to offer children a wide range of experiences. The rooms are rearranged according to the changing needs of the children and teachers as required.

Outdoor Facilities

The kindergarten has the option of going to the public playground right next door or to the kindergarten's own garden, which is located next to the playground. On the public playground there are many opportunities to satisfy the urge to move. There is a slide, a small sandpit, various climbing frames, a carousel and swings. In the kindergarten's own garden there is a large sandpit area, a high climbing frame and seesaw animals. The adjoining parish garden can also be used. There are lots of opportunities to hide and move around here.

The forecourt in front of the kindergarten is often used for ball games, jumping rope or throwing frisbees just before breakfast and the second pick-up time.

Once a week, during garden time, there is the opportunity to use the adjacent community hall to balance out the children's need for exercise.

Our "Nature Day" takes place every Friday. Together with the children, we explore the surrounding area and give them the opportunity to explore the forest. As Buoch has a very favorable location, we are quickly in the forest or on large meadows. Nature weeks are held regularly.

Every second Tuesday is our snack day. We involve the children in the planning and then prepare it together.

Once a week there is a special activity for the children in their last year of kindergarten.
Twice a week, a teacher comes to the facility for targeted language support.

Food

Your child should bring a balanced and healthy snack from home.

Drinks such as water, sparkling water and unsweetened tea are provided.

We participate in the EU school program and regularly receive fruit and vegetables from a regional supplier. We integrate this into our daily routine and offer the children fresh fruit and vegetables every day. The offer is free of charge for all children.

Basics

Our educational work is based on the situational approach. The starting point for our work is the life situation of the children and their different needs, life situations and developments. We ask ourselves what a child wants and needs and observe their behavior. It is the task of us educators to meet each child with their strengths and weaknesses at their individual stage of development. The focus here is on the strengths of each individual child. In this process, we educators treat the children with great empathy and act as companions and partners for them.
Children have a thirst for knowledge and a curiosity that we want to satisfy together with them. We support them in finding their own answers to questions. Our aim is to give the children the skills they need to master current and future life situations.

Play is an essential element of situation-based work. Through activities, projects and stimuli, children acquire new knowledge and experiences that they can process through play. Our aim is to promote the child holistically. In particular, we want to promote social behavior and cooperation, self-esteem and the development of the children's personalities. In order to achieve these goals, our daily routine is geared towards the children's needs and leaves room for spontaneous situations. We do not want to interfere with the children's "doing" and learning through experience and trial and error with too many fixed activities. Conscious reflection and observation of the situation decide on changes or deviations. Our work is based on the orientation plan of the state of Baden- Württemberg.

Cooperations

If necessary and with the prior consent of the parents, we cooperate with the following institutions:

  • Specialist curative education service
  • SPZ (Social Pediatric Center)
  • Cooperation with the elementary school
  • Pediatricians
  • Early intervention centers
  • Youth welfare services/ youth welfare office

Teamwork with parents

We want to create an educational partnership together with the parents. Parents and teachers are both role models and contact persons for children and are jointly responsible for the healthy development of the children. Both sides, the teachers and the parents, bring their respective wealth of experience to our kindergarten. For a child's healthy development, it is important that parents and teachers work together to find out what a child needs, what is good for them and what individual support they need.
Parents are experts for their own child. Their expert knowledge is based on the many experiences they have had with their own child in everyday life and which they have noticed in their child's development. Parents know best when their child is sad, happy, anxious or content. Above all, however, parents are and remain the most important caregivers for their child.

Educators are experts on child development in general, on the individual development paths that different children take and on possible difficulties that may arise along the way. In addition to their specialist knowledge, educators contribute their experience with many children in the group to the educational partnership, as well as their individual personalities.
When working with parents, it is important to us to connect the two worlds of the child. For us educators in the daycare center, this means learning about important events in the family and taking family circumstances seriously. On the other hand, we also want to share our pedagogical knowledge and our experiences with the child with the parents during the childcare period. When parents and educators pull together and contact takes place on an equal footing, the result is a win-win situation for children, parents and educators.
The first contact that parents have with the daycare center is the admission interview, during which the facility can be viewed and open questions can be clarified. Daily discussions about the child, appointments and situational issues take place in door-to-door meetings. We support all of the child's transitions by providing parents with intensive information and advice during this important time. Development meetings take place 1-2 times a year.

Specifics

Children as young as 2 years old can be admitted to our kindergarten, regardless of their origin or religious beliefs. We support the inclusive approach by also offering a place in our daycare center to children with a higher need for support. If necessary, we cooperate with integration assistants or accompanying support agencies. However, we do not have barrier-free access.
