The municipal daycare center Struck is located in the south of Remscheid, in a quiet environment in close proximity to nature. Baisiepen, Talsperre and Kuckuck are easily accessible via footpaths and offer the children various opportunities to experience nature.

In an atmosphere of trust, the team of 12 educational staff support children throughout their development. We support children in their independent thinking and actions and thus strengthen their independence, self-confidence and self-esteem. We take children and their personal experiences, adventures and abilities seriously. Together with the children, we develop projects and activities that correspond to their interests.

With us, children experience life in a community and the associated handling of their own feelings and needs.

Rooms

A total of 60 children aged 2-6 years are cared for in our daycare center in 3 groups spread over two floors.

There are two groups on the lower floor, each with a group room, a side room and a differentiation room. These contain the children's library with the educational area "literacy" and the building and construction room with the educational area "basic mathematical experience". Our "cheese cave", which is available as a project corner, is also located on the lower floor.

The third group with the adjoining room and a differentiation room are located on the upper floor. The children's restaurant with the educational area "health, nutrition, communication" and "social intercultural education" can be found here. The "movement and body" education area is located in the gymnasium.

Adjacent to all group rooms are the corresponding toilet, washing and changing areas.

The children can discover and use all areas independently according to their age and stage of development. They are accompanied by us if necessary.

Outdoor Facilities

Our daycare center is located close to the forest and its outdoor area borders a horse meadow and a public playground. The playground is often included in our activities and the forest also invites children to discover, play and build.

On our outdoor area there is a water play equipment, a nest swing, a large sandpit, a small climbing path, a playhouse and a climbing frame. The children can also drive various vehicles or sit at the table while painting. The meadow is also ideal for picnics. The outdoor area was extended and redesigned in 2015.
