The Hackenberg daycare center was built in 1985/86 by the city of Remscheid. Until October 2007, it was run by the Lennep Protestant parish and was then converted into a parents' initiative. The parents' initiative is still closely connected to the Protestant parish of Lennep.
All families of the children cared for are members of the association of the Elterninitiative KiTa Hackenberg e.V..

Our facility is located on the outskirts of Remscheid-Lennep near a forest.
The surroundings and our generous overall facilities offer good conditions for a variety of experiences in social interaction and activities. It is a traffic-calmed zone with sports and leisure facilities. There is a direct connection to the neighboring elementary school.

In our pedagogical work the child is the center of attention.

We respect each child as an independent personality.
Our goal is to accompany the children individually and according to their personal development. We support the children in building a positive self-confidence and self-esteem. We observe the children's interests and developmental processes. In dialogue with them, we learn what is important to them and what they need in order to continue educational processes.
