We are a family-run, single-group kindergarten where children are cared for from the age of two and a half until they start school.

As a rural kindergarten, we take advantage of the nature that surrounds us and the opportunities it offers. In nature we can acquire knowledge in all educational areas.

Breakfast

In the morning, the children have the opportunity to have a continual breakfast, which they have brought with them, with a choice of tea or water.

Lunch

At 12:00 noon, the group eats lunch together. Parents can choose whether to give their child a snack or a warm lunch in a thermos or order a warm lunch. To order the hot lunch, parents must register with Kitafino and then transfer funds to the Kitafino account. Parents are responsible for ordering and transferring credit. Beverages are provided.

The beverage fee per educational year is €40 and is collected in September.

Basics

In our pedagogical work, we refer to the life situations of the children. We consciously perceive the children during play and activities and derive from this the insights that we implement in our daily work and in offers.

"Through experience one becomes wise" - so they say. We offer the children the framework to learn and act independently and cooperatively as active individuals. Understanding when I only hear about things - that is very difficult. The children need the context of experience, they need to observe, feel and try things out in order to internalize. In a mixed-age group, younger children learn a lot from the "big ones". The "big ones" act as role models.

Upon admission to the kindergarten, we enter into an educational partnership with the parents. We openly enter into a relationship with the parents and greatly appreciate the exchange and willingness to cooperate. In this way, we support each other in everyday life and in educational processes.

The kindergarten Wiesenwichtel is located on the outskirts of Dorsbrunn.

For us Wiesenwichtel it is important to respond to the needs of the children and to let them actively participate in actions. In this way we enable the children to train their self-awareness and to get involved with our environment.

The large garden in front of and behind the kindergarten building offers us space to observing - discovering - experimenting and getting to know with all senses:

• Garden habitat: observation the nest boxes and various animal species

• Games with sun, rain and snow
• working with collected natural materials: laying mandalas, working with tools,
• constructing, cooking in the outdoor kitchen, etc.

We love spending time in our garden. Because there is always a lot to see and work on. When we bring them out, the children often discover deer at the edge of the forest and they consciously notice the colors in the sky or where and how the sun rises. There is no such thing as bad weather - only unsuitable clothing. That is why the children have rubber boots and mud/snow pants in the kindergarten.

As a rural kindergarten, we take advantage of the nearby meadows and forests to provide a variety of experiences. During walks and excursions, the children can live out their natural urge to move and gather observations in all educational areas. We perceive changes and connections in the seasonal cycle with all our senses.

Through this experience, the Wiesenwichtel develop a sense of responsibility for our nature and environment - nature is unique, vulnerable and irreplaceable. In this way, we can build a respect for nature and it becomes a need to preserve our nature and to pay attention to sustainability.
