Specifics
The kindergarten Wiesenwichtel is located on the outskirts of Dorsbrunn.
For us Wiesenwichtel it is important to respond to the needs of the children and to let them actively participate in actions. In this way we enable the children to train their self-awareness and to get involved with our environment.
The large garden in front of and behind the kindergarten building offers us space to observing - discovering - experimenting and getting to know with all senses:
- Garden habitat: observation the nest boxes and various animal species
- experimenting with the elements earth and water
- Games with sun, rain and snow
- working with collected natural materials: laying mandalas, working with tools,
- constructing, cooking in the outdoor kitchen, etc.
- Vegetable patch: planting - tending – harvesting
- Berry bushes and fruit trees: snacking and processing
We love spending time in our garden. Because there is always a lot to see and work on. When we bring them out, the children often discover deer at the edge of the forest and they consciously notice the colors in the sky or where and how the sun rises. There is no such thing as bad weather - only unsuitable clothing. That is why the children have rubber boots and mud/snow pants in the kindergarten.
As a rural kindergarten, we take advantage of the nearby meadows and forests to provide a variety of experiences. During walks and excursions, the children can live out their natural urge to move and gather observations in all educational areas. We perceive changes and connections in the seasonal cycle with all our senses.
Through this experience, the Wiesenwichtel develop a sense of responsibility for our nature and environment - nature is unique, vulnerable and irreplaceable. In this way, we can build a respect for nature and it becomes a need to preserve our nature and to pay attention to sustainability.
