Concept

Our facility includes five pedagogical specialists in a total of four classes.

Our facility works with a group-based community concept.

An after-school teacher is the contact person for its class. They accompany them until the 4th grade.

The children intensify their relationship with the teacher and learn to accept and implement structures and rules in a group. They strengthen community life and strengthen coexistence among the children.

The school and after school care shares this building together. The children get to use the rooms on five different floors. 

basement: 

- the cafeteria

- the room for carpentry

ground floor: 

- the after school care room of the second and fourth class

- the room of the after school care manager

- the teachersroom 

- the secretariat

- the room for music classes as well as homework

- the rooms for early and late after school care

first floor: 

- the classrooms from class 2 and 4

- the room of the school social worker

- the theatre room 

second floor:

- the room of the DAZ-class 1 to 2

- the classroom as well as after school care room of class 3

last floor:

 - the classroom and after school care room of class 1 

- the room of the DaZ-class 3 to 4

Outdoor Facilities

The yard

During breaks and in the afternoon children can use:

- the big courtyard

- the playground

- the swing

- the slide

- massive field to play football and other kinds of sports

- possibilities to relax under trees, benches or chill out in quiet and peaceful areas 

during the after school care children can also use :

- using toys in the sand

- driving with different vehicles for kids

Daily Schedule

Daily routine during school time

Each class follows its daily routine differently.

Early school care is from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Depending on how the classes end, the after-school teachers take over the children and take them to lunch or go outside to release the stress from school. After that, homework is scheduled on all days except Wednesdays.

On Monday and Tuesday homework is supervised by a teacher. On Mondays from 1:00 p.m. and  on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. On Thursdays and Fridays the homework is done in groups. The after-school teachers have to agree on the time at which the different classes will do their homework, depending on the needs of the children. These start at 1:00 p.m. 

Wednesday is a homework-free day. This day is often used as a group day. Accordingly, educational offers or group afternoons are organized which the children request.

The children have the opportunity to eat a snack between 2 and 3 p.m.

The classes from 2 to 4 have the opportunity to take part in different afternoon offers, GTA for short, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2 p.m.

The current offers: English group, computer group, “Flinke Nadel” or “Light aiming”

At around 3 p.m. on warm days the children can play outside and on rainy and cold days they can stay indoors on the ground floor until they are picked up or going home on their own.

Daily routine during the holiday season

During the holidays the children come to the early after-school care from 6 a.m. From the time until breakfast at around 8 a.m., the children can play indoors on the ground floor. For breakfast we go to the dining room. After that, a different program is planned every day. This is either carried out in the after-school care or trips are organized, such as a tour to the Sonnenlandpark or swimming in the outdoor pool Platsch.

Food

Food possibilities

In our after school care the children are able to eat lunch and have tea time. Each class has a different time when they are going to eat. It depends on their ending of school lessons. They eat in the cafeteria. The children have the company of the teacher or their after school teacher. Either way they take a break for lunch between their lessons or  they are going to after school ends. 

Lunch:

We get the food from an extern food provider called "Sozialküche Lommatzsch". The children can choose the food they'll like from four different choices off a menu. They'll get to choose from an app at home together with their parents. With a QR-Code the parents can register their child and thenthey can start!

Tea time:

In the afternoon every child brings a little snack to eat from home. The tea time is different from every class. They decide when they eat.
