Welcome to MiniPiraten – your qualified, bilingual childminding service in Oberhausen-Osterfeld/Rothebusch!
Since its founding in 2012, MiniPiraten has stood for warm, family-like, and at the same time professionally run childcare for children under three. In a small group of no more than five children, I offer a protected setting in which every child can be perceived, accompanied, and supported individually in their development.
Care takes place in lovingly and child-friendly designed rooms as well as on an outdoor area of almost 1,000 m². A large sand play area, two playhouses, a swing, a slide, a trampoline, a football goal, and many other play and movement opportunities invite children to discover, try things out, and romp around. Fruit trees, berry bushes, herbs, and our own fruit and vegetable growing area bring an additional touch of farm and nature experience into our everyday life. The children get to experience how plants grow, harvest together, process food, and of course taste it too.
My hours of care are Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
My educational concept
At the center of my work is the child as an individual personality with their own needs, interests, abilities, and their own pace of development. A structured and reliable daily routine provides security, orientation, and a sense of safety. At the same time, the children are given room to discover independently, make decisions, try things out, and increasingly build confidence in their own abilities.
The educational work of MiniPiraten is based in particular on four focus areas:
1. Movement, motor skills, and creativity – a wide variety of movement, play, and creative opportunities both indoors and outdoors support gross and fine motor skills, perception, independence, and creativity.
2. Healthy, wholesome nutrition and nature experience – meals are freshly and evenly prepared and follow the recommendations of the German Nutrition Society (DGE). Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-free diets are possible by arrangement. Through our own cultivation of fruit, vegetables, and herbs, the children experience food from its growth all the way to the shared meal.
3. Bilingual everyday life in German/English – English is playfully integrated into everyday life without any pressure to perform. Familiar games, songs, movement activities, and everyday situations are used to give the children their first natural encounters with the English language.
4. Values, community, and social skills – helpfulness, equality, mutual respect, consideration, independence, and an appreciative way of interacting with one another are not only taught but experienced and lived out together in everyday life.
Individual support and early childhood education
I care for children under three and understand support as holistic developmental guidance. This is not just about helping children in areas where they still need support. It is equally important to me to recognize and further develop interests, abilities, and strengths that are already present.
The children are supported in an age-appropriate way to act increasingly independently and to gather their own experiences. Participation is naturally part of everyday educational life: children are allowed to help shape, try out, and make decisions in line with their stage of development. Language, motor skills, social abilities, creativity, and independence are playfully nurtured in daily interaction together.
Qualifications and experience
MiniPiraten was founded in 2012. I hold a childminding license in accordance with § 43 SGB VIII (German Social Code) and am a qualified childminder. In addition, I completed the QHB advanced qualification according to the current qualification handbook in February 2024.
Regular further training, first-aid training for children, training on the child protection mandate under § 8a SGB VIII, as well as supervision and ongoing professional development, are all part of what I consider professional childminding. Through my previous work at the Bundesvereinigung Lebenshilfe as well as my training in the social-integrative and nursing fields, I also bring a wide range of experience from the social and educational sector.
A gentle settling-in period forms the basis for a good start. At MiniPiraten, it follows the Berlin Model and, above all, the individual needs of each child. The goal is to build a secure relationship so that the child feels safe and secure at MiniPiraten and can discover the new environment at their own pace.
