Introduction/specifics

Welcome to the AWO Wiesenpieper Daycare Center.

We are a small but excellent kindergarten located in the Oberhausen district of the municipality of Oberhausen-Rheinhausen. Here, we laugh, dance, sing, play, do crafts, fall down and get back up again. We make mistakes and learn from them; we fail in order to discover how something does not work—and we are all the more delighted when we succeed. We orient our work around the needs of the children. We act as partners with whom boundaries can be tested and explored, and where consequences can be experienced. We are playmates, comforters, outlets for frustration, and companions when falling asleep or in emotionally challenging situations.

In our daycare center, we work with a partially open concept that combines the advantages of both closed and open approaches. Children are encouraged to participate and help shape various aspects of everyday life. Involving children in this way strengthens their self-confidence and helps them experience a sense of self-efficacy.

The preschool program is organized and carried out in cooperation with the Eichenhof Primary School.

Our lunches are provided by the company Sauder.

Overview

Please note:

• Children can only be registered for a place after birth. Visits to the facility are also arranged only after the child’s birth and in consultation with the facility management.
• Children whose siblings are already being cared for at the facility are given priority when places are allocated.
• A requirement for being allocated a place is residency or official registration in our municipality. Registration is also possible if a move to the municipality is planned: Please fill in your current address in the registration form, select “Yes” in the “Move planned” field, and enter the planned moving date.
• To increase your chances of obtaining your preferred childcare, you may apply to several facilities. To indicate which offer you prefer, you can assign a priority in the request form under the childcare details (e.g., Priority 1 = first choice). A maximum of three applications can be submitted at the same time.
