Introduction/specifics

The day nursery "Kleine Weltentdecker" is located directly underneath St. Markus Church in Oberasbach and consists of two core groups. Each core group comprises only 9 children, which enables our team to deliver individual care and support.

Rooms

The nursery consists of two group rooms and two sleeping rooms as well as an extended cloakroom area, which can also be used for indoor active play. Furthermore, there are utility rooms such as a children's bathroom with toilet facilities for children and changing tables as well as a kitchen, a storage room, an office space and a bathroom for adults.

Outdoor Facilities

In the garden area, the children find a sandbox with slide, a birds nest swing, a play castle and a climbing area. There is also room to ride a bobby car.

Daily Schedule

7.30 am:                            Nursery opens
7.30 am – 8.30 am:                          Drop-off time: children arrive at the nursery  and have time for free play activities
8.30 am:                            Morning meeting in core group
9.00 am:                            Children have breakfast together
9.30 am – 11.15 am:                 Free play, a choice of educational activities as well as opportunities for exercise in the  .                                      garden area or indoors
11.15 am:                          Lunch (from our caterer "KiTa-MENUE")
From about 11.45 am onwards:    Nap time
From 1.30 pm onwards:             Flexible pick-up, free play
From about 2.00 pm onwards:     Our team works across groups (child care not limited to core group), free play
2.30 pm:                           Snack time
2.45 pm:                           Free play, educational activities, outdoor activities in the garden area
4.00 pm:                           Nursery closes

Food

Lunch is delivered by the Cadolzburg-based caterer "KiTa-MENUE" and is made preferably from regional products. For breakfast and afternoon snacks, the children bring their own food from home.

Specifics

We work according to the "partially open concept." This means that the children are assigned to a regular core group, but in the off-peak hours or for certain offers and activities are not limited to this core group. Thus the children also have the opportunity to socialize with the children of the other core group and to explore a group room besides their own.

Working across groups is favored by our premises, as it is possible to connect the two group rooms through large sliding doors, thus effectively creating one big group room for both core groups.
