Introduction/specifics

Our five-group day care center is sponsored by the German Red Cross, Kreisverband Oberbergischer Kreis e.V. and is one of 15 DRK day care centers for children in the Oberbergischer Kreis.

We are a recognized exercise day care center of the state of NRW with the plus point of nutrition. We offer our children a variety of movement experiences so that they develop healthily and efficiently.

These experiences support the physical and cognitive development of the children and increase their willingness and ability to learn, as well as their psychosocial well-being.

In addition, we are PlusKita with an additional, family-supporting specialist. Language is also an important topic for us, we promote language integrated into everyday life and have another, suitably qualified specialist as SprachförderKita.

Special features during opening hours:

We offer the following hourly budgets: 25 hours from 7.30 - 12.30 / 35 hours from 7.00 - 14.00 / 45 hours 7.00 - 16.00

Our fifth group is a forest group that offers 25- or 35-hour places from 7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Places are offered for U3 and Ü3 children.

During the summer holidays, two or three groups close the first three or the last three weeks of the holidays on an annual basis.

Rooms

The kindergarden is at ground level with a spacious room concept. (studio, music room, workshop, black light theatre, movement room, children's library, second levels)  The rooms are multifunctional and invite you to play, move, learn and research in a variety of ways.

Outdoor Facilities

We have a spacious outdoor play area with meadow, trees and a small garden for planting and harvesting. The play possibilities in the area are extended by a low rope station, a bird's nest swing, several sandboxes, a slide tower, play towers, a floor trampoline, a children's construction site, outdoor painting board and a watering hole. We use our arena as a common meeting place, e.B. for singing together.

Our "Waldstrolche" have their large-scale forest wagon at the Franz-Dohrmann-Haus. The park-like terrain are the adjacent nature with meadows and forests are explored daily.

Daily Schedule

The daily routine is situational and child-oriented. The drop-off time is between 7.00 am and 9.00 am. As a rule, lunch is eaten at 12.30 pm in the groups. Block children should be picked up by 2:00 p.m. and day children by 4:00 p.m. at the latest.

Food

Nutrition

We are a recognized exercise kindergarten with the plus point of nutrition and attach importance to a balanced diet with a lot of raw food and fruit. Our cook cooks fresh every day. The morning should be sugar-free if possible. In our library there is a recipe folder for the parents with many sophisticated, child-friendly ideas. A healthy diet is a good building block for a long, healthy life!

Basics

We work according to the principles of the German Red Cross based on the "Reggio Pedagogy". The focus is on the children. Every child is unique and is accepted, taken seriously and accompanied in his development with his life story, needs and abilities. We work resource-oriented and see the strengths of the children in the foreground.

A special focus of our work is movement, because it positively influences development and learning in all areas of education.

Employee

Our facility employs 16 specialists, a freelance manager, a housekeeper and three cleaning assistants. Our employees are particularly qualified in a wide variety of areas and regularly take part in further training.  The team includes two motopaedists, a PlusKita specialist, a language support specialist and two colleagues with additional training in curative education. All employees are exercise instructors for movement education in toddlers and preschools.

There is a cooperation with a speech therapist and an occupational therapist. Thus, therapies can be carried out regularly in the daycare center.

Additional Offerings

We have a cooperation with an occupational therapy and a speech therapy practice. Thus, any necessary therapies can be carried out in our facility.

We have a cooperation with the TuS Kempershöhe and carry out events together, e.B a football tournament for all Marienheide kindergardens or the "Heilteichlauf".

Through the cooperation with the Tara-Isländerhof, we can regularly carry out pony groups in which the overall personality of the children is promoted. The pony festival is a special highlight for everyone in the kindergarten year, where the children show what they have learned.

Teamwork with school

With the first day of admission to daycare, each child's preschool period begins. It includes all our work with the children, which is age-specific, situation- and project-oriented. Intensive cooperation takes place with the local primary school in order to facilitate the transition of the children to primary school.

Teamwork with parents

Parents are always welcome and we want a trusting cooperation with them. They are valued and included in the work. There is regular parent information, offers, joint actions, development talks, workshops, etc.
