Current information

Introduction/specifics

The Kath. Kita Sonnenland is characterized by a spacious, bright room concept. The five kindergarten groups and two crèche groups have various alternative rooms and galleries. The cloakrooms and washrooms adjacent to the group room provide direct access to the playground. The implementation of the partially open concept distinguishes our facility. It is important to us to give the children as much freedom of choice and suggestions as possible and to accompany them closely. We also attach great importance to intensive work with parents. We want daily exchange with parents, development and problem discussions are held by arrangement. Observing and documenting forms the basis of our educational work and gives us the opportunity to respond to the needs of the children depending on the situation and individually. We see the diversity and differences of children and families as a great asset. The aim is to accept every child with their particularities and to experience it as normal that everyone is different.

The crèche groups use the cross-group rooms individually.

Outdoor Facilities

The spacious outdoor area offers children a wide range of opportunities for exercise, nature experiences, motor and sensory development, e.g. by swinging, climbing, balancing, sliding, jumping on the trampoline, playing with water and sand. Once again, we have as much free space as possible on the playground, as few guidelines as necessary. So there are many opportunities for the children to practice and try out social interaction there. There is a separate play area for the crèche children, which is tailored to the needs of the under-three-year-olds and which nevertheless enables contact with the older children.

Food

The children bring their breakfast from home. We appreciate it when a balanced and low-sugar product is given. We would also like to work towards minimizing packaging waste. For breakfast, the children are offered water (sparkling and non-carbonated), milk and apple spritzer. We charge a monthly fee of € 4.00 for this. Once a month we prepare a breakfast buffet with the children. Seasonal products are preferred. We get lunch every day from the school catering company "Curom.

Basics

In our facility we work in a partially open concept. After the children have been welcomed to their home groups in the morning and have had a common morning circle, the children use the generous amount of space in the morning, which opens up many options for the children: They can choose a room and a teacher, they have a large number of play partners at their disposal They can pursue their interests and needs, try out different areas, act independently and help shape their everyday lives. We also attach great importance to intercultural learning. We experience the cultural diversity as a great enrichment, so that appreciating and dealing with other cultures is a daily and worthwhile task for us. Through the intercultural approach, we want to promote openness, understanding and respect for all people, make prejudices aware and reduce them. The aim of our inclusive work is to accept every child with their special features and to see it as normal that every person is different. Consciously perceiving the otherness, naming it and removing possible barriers is part of our daily work. Language training integrated into everyday life is also given special consideration in our educational work.

Employee

Fifteen educational staff and four people who work in housekeeping, cleaning or gardening are currently working in our facility. The integration force of the integration group has a qualification as a curative nurse. One employee at the daycare center is trained as a nanny, one colleague is a social assistant, and everyone else is trained as an educator. In addition, five employees have additional training in the area of pedagogy for young children and one in the area of integration. The quota of hours for the language specialist is 19.5 hours, the language teacher has 9 hours.

Overview

All children are very welcome in our facility. Since for us a good acclimatization is the basis for our pedagogical work, the cooperation of the parents based on the "Berlin acclimatization model" is assumed during the acclimatization phase.
