Rooms
In our kindergarten of the senses, we give the children space to become aware of their senses and the associated perceptual possibilities.
We provide them with a learning environment that encourages them to pursue their curiosity through spacious and bright rooms and varied equipment.
Special features include a laboratory, a theatre with a stage and dance mirror, sensory rooms with an infrared sauna, an art barn with a workbench and easel and much more...
Pedagogical principles/aspects
The pedagogical area is orientated towards the conditions at home: It is divided into the U3 area (ground floor) and the Ü3 area (upper floor). Both have 6 reference areas each with a maximum of 12 children and 18 children in the pre-school area.
As a child day care centre, we promote the development of children into independent and socially competent personalities through a holistic education, upbringing, care and support programme.
Rooms
On the ground floor of the daycare centre there are six lovingly designed home areas for the youngest children, each in a different colour and with specific equipment:
Orange area (nest) for the youngest children with wall games, wall projector, cosy carpet and children's roller bench.
Velvet yellow area with play centre, puppet show/kitchen and seating.
Green area with play centre, motor skills cube, platform landscape and seating.
Red area with book trolley, cosy corner, discovery landscape and seating.
Blue area with maxi hut landscape and seating.
Yellow area with castle landscape and seating.
Special nest beds are available for children under the age of one in the "Nestchen". All rooms have sun protection and small light sources create a calm atmosphere. Mobile themed trolleys encourage a love of discovery and sensory development. In the U3 area, there are hygiene areas with height-adapted changing tables, washbasins and toilets in the immediate vicinity. Cloakrooms in the corridor correspond to the home areas. The fitness room can be used by all children and offers a gymnastics wall and wall bars, soft mats, balls, a sand snake as well as balancing and sensory boards.
The elementary area (Ü3) is located on the upper floor with child-orientated pedagogical rooms that take into account the six educational areas. Each functional room, which is also a reference room, encourages the children to be active and explore on their own:
Art barn: creative corner, workbench, tools, easel, various natural materials
Playhouse: stage, dressing-up trolley, mirrored walls, costumes, disco ball
Music shop: Various instruments, singing bowls, CD player, seating area
Doll's house: dolls and accessories, Punch and Judy theatre, cooking station
Playhouse: play figures, shop, pedestal, toys of various kinds
Room of the senses: infrared sauna, light table, relaxation island, aroma diffuser, singing bowls, blankets, yoga mats and cushions, sand level
Building centre: different types of building blocks, platform landscape, vehicles, farm/animals
Library: comfortable couch, books, children's PC, reading and writing corner
Laboratory: Space for researchers and explorers, experimental area, beaker magnifiers, prisms, pictures and materials on plants and animals, microscopes, containers, funnels, scales/materials, hourglasses
Children's meeting point: Height-adjustable tables, children's buffet, drinks trolley, meeting point for children from the whole house; meals for the Ü3 area, community games
Preschool club: retreat corner with sofa area, sensory writing box, sensory learning games, puzzles, age- and function-appropriate equipment for the preschool area, writing corner
The rooms allow for needs-orientated resting or sleeping, with built-in raised levels/mat cupboards and mattresses. Sun protection is provided and the room is not completely darkened during nap time. Children who do not wish to rest can use quiet activities in the children's centre or the Garden of the Senses. Personal cloakrooms in the corridor area provide space for a change of clothes or parents' post. Children's hygiene areas are designed to be experience-orientated (e.g. funnel, filter, water wheel) and equipped in an age-appropriate way.
