Introduction/specifics

Our day care center is located in Michendorf in the Wildenbruch district, right next to the reliable half-day elementary school. The sponsor of our facility is the municipality of Michendorf, based in Michendorf.

Together we take care of up to 59 children from about one year until they start school. In the crèche and kindergarten area, we look after the children in five age-homogeneous groups. There is also a mixed-age group that looks after children aged 3-6 years. The educational specialist accompanies the children from the moment they are admitted to the crèche to when they start school.

Outdoor Facilities

The outdoor area of our day care center has a small and a large playground. These are equipped with a wide range of play equipment and offer the children a wide variety of exercise options. But we also like to go for walks or to play in the forest opposite.

Daily Schedule

Our daily routine:

Start: 6.00 a.m

                    arrival and game time

Breakfast: 8.15 a.m

                    Playtime/educational offerings

Lunch: from 11.15 a.m

                    Individual lunch break

Vespers: 2.30 p.m

                    game time

End: 5 p.m

Basics

In our pedagogical work, we focus on everyday living conditions inside and outside the day-care center. We work according to the “raisin concept”, which means that we pick the “raisins” that make the most sense for us from the many pedagogical approaches and let them flow into the different ways in which the children’s everyday lives are organized. We are particularly aware of our environment and enable the children to understand it. The focus of our pedagogical work is the children's play, because that is their daily "work". Children's ideas that they develop in the game or questions that concern our children are taken up pedagogically and worked on with them according to their age.

We can call ourselves the "House of Little Researchers". Every day we support children's natural curiosity by providing many materials for learning and experimenting. It is important to enable the children to experience themselves and to support the children.

We have been a “language day care center” since 2017 and take part in the federal language program. With an additional specialist, we have the opportunity to specifically address everyday language education, cooperation with families and inclusive education.

Employee

Our team is currently made up of a manager, ten teachers (including one teacher with a deputy management function), a teacher in training and two technical staff. Furthermore, two caretakers work in our facility and in the school.
