Dear Parents,

My name is Joerg Krueger. I am 53 years old and have two daughters of my own aged 18 and 20 and a son who is 13 years old. I have been working as a certified childminder with great enthusiasm since 2016. I took over the job from my wife after she passed away. I enjoy working with the children because it is very varied and it is fun to accompany the children in their progress. The best reward are the smiles and hugs from the children!

Our daily routine is not strictly regulated, but usually looks like this: After the children have arrived in the morning, we first have breakfast and then we play together, whereby I try not to amuse the children all day. I want them to learn to keep themselves occupied or to play with the other children, because free play encourages creativity!

Depending on what the children want, we paint, build Lego towers, read or sing together. We like going to my garden, where there is a sandbox, a swing, a slide or a trampoline at their disposal. We also often go for walks. Whether on foot or with a handcart, the central location of my house allows us to explore the city or the forest in addition to visiting playgrounds. It is important to me that the children can be outside when the weather is suitable.

Just before noon I prepare lunch. The children are welcome to help according to their abilities. I cook fresh every day and the children can also ask for food. After lunch, the children are allowed to play again or, if necessary, take a nap. There is a separate, quiet room with a cot available for this purpose. If desired, I help the school children with their homework.

If time permits, we go to the playground again in the afternoon. If this is not possible due to naps or pick-up times, we play in the garden or we occupy ourselves inside. Among other things, I have board and card games for the school children that we play with together. Depending on the season, there are also special activities, such as handicrafts for Christmas, painting Easter eggs and much more.
