Introduction/specifics

In our evangelical two-group daycare center there are a total of 40 childcare places for children from 2 years up to school. There are 24 places available for all-day care and 7 places for two-year-old children.

In the small mixed-age group (MOON GROUP), 15 children aged 2 to 4 years are cared for, and in the regular group (SUN GROUP) 25 children aged 4 to 6 years (until school starts).

The kindergarten team consists of five pedagogical specialists including management, an additional specialist for intercultural and interreligious education, a domestic help and a cleaner. In addition, a volunteer supports us in the social year.

Our work in kindergarten is based on agreed transparent quality criteria, which we regularly check, and we have had the Evangelical seal of quality according to BETA (Federal Association of Evangelical Day Care Centers for Children) for our quality management since 2016.

Rooms

In our building there are two group rooms on the ground floor, each with an adjoining room, a washroom with children's toilets and changing area, a staff toilet, an office and a kitchen.

The spacious hall area offers plenty of free space for running, a climbing castle with slide and niches, a ball pit, sofas and an exit to the balcony with a staircase that leads to the kindergarten yard. There is also a staircase in the hallway to the large multi-purpose room on the upper floor.

There are many opportunities for playing and moving: a climbing wall, swings, a gymnasium and boxes, a balance beam, chairs, a thick gym mat, roller boards, spinning tops, balls and many large foam blocks.

Outdoor Facilities

Outside in the kindergarten there is plenty of space on the meadow and the paved floor for playing, romping, running and driving with a number of vehicles of all sizes.

The slide, two swings, the play house, tree house, the hydraulic construction site and the large sandpit are also ready to play.

The balcony and the superstructure of the northern part of the house offer covered, protected corners and niches for all weather conditions. The awning over the sandpit and a large parasol additionally protect against sun rays in summer.

Basics

We promote the overall personality of every child in the social, cognitive, motor and emotional area, also with a focus on independence and self-confidence and enable the child to live out his urge to move. We particularly support all of this with the extensive free play, in which the children can freely choose what, where and with whom they play.

When we get used to new children, we follow the "Berlin model".

The daily routines in the groups are tailored to the development phases and needs of the children.

In the last year before starting school, the children receive special offers for school preparation and we offer English as a foreign language early education.

In the case of bilingual or multilingualism, the children can take part in targeted language support measures.

We observe and document the education of your children and you as parents receive a developmental discussion about your child at least once a year. The exchange, contact and encounter as well as the cooperation with the family are important to us.

We wish for a trusting cooperation and openness in the exchange with you as parents for the good of your children.

We familiarize the children with the Christian faith and life in a multicultural community. This requires tolerance, appreciation and respectful interaction with one another. Every child is accepted by us in its identity.

We respect everyone in their uniqueness, with all their facets, their origins, religion, weaknesses and strengths.

Our work in kindergarten is based on agreed transparent quality criteria. Together with our sponsor, we regularly review them through self-assessment and external reports and develop them together. For this quality management, we have received the Evangelical Seal of Quality according to BETA (Federal Association of Evangelical Day Care Centers for Children).
