A Warm Welcome to Kita Drügendorf!
Our Kindergarten – Family-Oriented, Close to Nature and Full of Opportunities to Explore
Our Kita Drügendorf is located in the heart of Drügendorf, a village that is part of the municipality of Eggolsheim in the Forchheim district of Bavaria. Our family-oriented childcare centre was newly built and opened in 2020.
Thanks to our central location in the village and our immediate proximity to playgrounds, meadows and forests, our kindergarten offers many opportunities to discover nature, experience adventures and explore our surroundings with all the senses.
We support children in two groups as they follow their own individual paths of development:
- Owl Group – Nursery: 12 places for children aged 12 months to three years.
- Fawn Group – Kindergarten: 25 places for children aged three until they start school.
Our Educational Approach
We follow a child-centred, situational approach, focusing on the children's interests, needs and individual life experiences. We take up their questions, ideas and experiences and use them as a starting point for shared projects, educational activities and a wide range of learning opportunities.
In this way, we create a varied daily routine that supports each child's individual development and enables them to discover and develop their abilities, strengths and interests.
Participation is a central part of our educational work. We actively involve the children in everyday decisions, take their opinions seriously and give them the opportunity to express their own wishes, ideas and needs. In doing so, they learn that their voices matter, that they can help shape their everyday lives and that they are valued members of our community.
Through our annual planning, weekly reviews, information boards and photo slideshows displayed on the television screen in our centre, parents gain insights into our educational work and the children's current interests and activities.
We are always happy when families contribute their own ideas, experiences and skills, enriching our projects and activities.
Growing Together – Across Groups and with an Open-Group Approach
Our daily routine offers many opportunities for interaction between nursery and kindergarten children. As part of our cross-group activities and partially open concept, the children visit each other's groups, play together in the garden, go for walks and take part in physical activities and sports together.
These encounters encourage social skills, consideration for others, independence and a sense of belonging. Every child has the opportunity to build relationships at their own pace, try new things and experience being part of our kindergarten community.
Movement, Music and Well-being
Once a week, we organise our Movement and Well-being Day. On this day, we combine physical activity, body awareness, relaxation and imagination.
Depending on the activities offered, the children enjoy sports and movement games, yoga, relaxation exercises, age-appropriate massages, meditation and guided fantasy journeys. These activities help develop their motor skills, teach them to listen to their bodies and allow them to gain valuable experiences with rest and relaxation.
Our weekly Music Day focuses on singing, dancing and making music together using a variety of instruments. Music allows children to express their feelings, experience rhythm, develop their creativity and enjoy a special sense of togetherness.
Eating and Enjoying Meals Together
In our children's dining area, the children enjoy breakfast and lunch in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Sharing meals provides opportunities for conversation and social interaction while helping children develop independence and positive eating habits.
Lunch is provided by Landgasthaus Utz in Adelsdorf and can be ordered by parents for their child via the KitaFino app. For breakfast each day, the children bring their own lunchbox from home.
Every Wednesday, we add muesli, cornflakes, yoghurt and milk to our breakfast selection. In addition, once a month we organise a healthy breakfast together, served as a buffet. This allows the children to discover different foods and gain positive experiences with nutrition, sharing meals and enjoying food together.
The children are encouraged to serve themselves independently at mealtimes and decide for themselves what they would like to eat and how much they would like to have of the different food options. We also involve the children in preparing the meals. Together, we cut up fresh fruit and vegetables and arrange everything on plates so that all the children can help themselves.
Nature as Part of Our Everyday Experience
Spending time outdoors and exploring our surroundings are an integral part of our daily routine. We make use of our garden, visit the nearby playground and explore the meadows, forests and paths around Drügendorf on our walks.
Nature offers countless opportunities for discovering, observing, moving and being amazed. Children can experience their surroundings with all their senses, make their own discoveries and develop an appreciation of and respect for nature.
Working in Partnership with Parents and the Parent Council
Building a trusting relationship with families is an important part of our educational work. We see parents as the experts on their own children and place great importance on open, respectful communication and working together as partners to support each child's development.
Every year, a Parent Council is elected at our centre. The council supports and enriches our work through ideas, commitment and practical help, for example with celebrations, activities and special events.
We are delighted to have worked with a dedicated Parent Council for many years and would like to express our sincere thanks for their valuable support and the trust they place in us.
We Are Happy You Are Here!
At Kita Drügendorf, we want to create a place where children and families feel welcome, accepted and at ease.
With warmth, care, appreciation, a wide range of experiences and the joy of discovering things together, we accompany the children on part of their journey through life – supporting each child individually and lovingly, while recognising their strengths and responding to their needs.
