Introduction/specifics

Studying with a child

In the sponsorship of two day-care centers for children, the Studierendenwerk provides the necessary infrastructure as part of reliable all-day care for children under the age of three, which is indispensable for the compatibility of family, studies and work.

When registering, please note that we only give full-day care places to students and university staff at Philipps-University

As a cooperation partner of the Philipps University, we support the students of the Philipps University as a competent service company close to the university with a social mandate and make a significant contribution to the implementation of equal opportunities, promotion and support of families. Our care offer should enable a degree or a scientific training with a child without further interruptions, because students with children are often in constant conflict between study requirements and the care needs of their child. Due to the multiple burden of studying, having children and, in some cases, employment, student parents in particular need the framework of reliable all-day care that is also available.

Rooms

The Kita Erlenring is located on the ground floor of an apartment complex built in 2010. The rooms are all at ground level and barrier-free. There are two bright group rooms with different functional areas and a plateau. In the group rooms, meals are also taken and this is also where the afternoon nap takes place. Each group room is adjoined by a changing and sanitary area.

In addition, there is a differentiation room, a staff and parents' room, as well as the office and a small kitchen.

Outdoor Facilities

In the outdoor area there is a small garden with sandpit, playhouses, a climbing-slide combination and a swing as well as an area that is well suited for bobby car driving. A small slope allows the children a variety of movement possibilities.

Both ground-level group rooms have direct access to the outdoor area via a garden door.

Daily Schedule

The daily routine is structured in order to give the children orientation points and to convey security through repetitive activities and processes.

A notice for lunch and afternoon meals informs parents about food and allergens.

In agreement with the parents there is the possibility of a vegetarian diet, food allergies and special features will be taken into account as far as possible.

The children eat meals together in their respective group rooms.

Basics

Care offer

The day care center offers 20 full-day places in mixed-age groups. The children between the ages of six months and three years are cared for by specialist staff. We encourage the child to develop into an independent and socially responsible personality. This task includes the education, upbringing and care of the children, whereby the offer is pedagogically and organizationally oriented towards the needs and life situations of the children and parents. Through situation and experience-oriented work, the children are offered a variety of possibilities and suggestions in their everyday life. In mixed-age, manageable groups, the day-care center enables a family-complementary living space and social world of experience for small children. Life in the day-care center is characterized by respect for the child’s individuality, security, acceptance and continuity, in a stimulating and well-structured learning environment for day-care children. Everyday day-to-day daycare is based on recurring rhythms and elements in the daily routine, which is deliberately structured. There are fixed sleeping and eating times, stable caregivers that the children need in order to gain trust, inner security and orientation. In an atmosphere of security, children are accompanied in their individual development by motivated specialists in close cooperation with their parents. Good cooperation between carers and parents is important to us in the interests of the children; In particular, parents should actively help shape their child's acclimatization phase and gain insight into day-to-day day-to-day life. In the course of the internationalization of the course, the day-care center will become a meeting place for children and parents from different countries and cultures.
