Introduction/specifics

Our daycare center is located in the center of Cappel, from where we can easily go to the forest and also the paths in the nature near the Lahn, easy to reach.

We are housed in a former administrative office, so we have a lot of space at our disposal.

Our nursery is located in another building, which we can reach in 2 minutes walk.

After completion of the new building in the Goldbergstrasse the day care center and the nursery will be housed there together.

 

Rooms

Our house offers a variety of rooms that are used as functional rooms.

These are distributed over 3 floors and are changeable, i.e. depending on the needs, other functional rooms can be created.

On the lower floor there is:

  • the "arrival room", equipped with tables and mainly table games
  • the studio, where various materials are available for painting, cutting, gluing, shaping, etc.
  • the bistro, where meals are taken
  • the movement room with many elements for moving, balancing, measuring strength and much more and 
  • the kitchen, where our food is freshly prepared.

 

On the 2nd floor there is

  • the building room, which invites the children to build, design and construct with different materials
  • the workroom, where tools are used and materials are available for creative and artistic activities
  • the role-play room, where clothing and utensils invite the children to slip into other roles
  • the room that is used for the children's respective needs, e.g. dancing, listening to a story, withdrawing
  • the checkroom and
  • a room that is used for activities in small groups. 

 

On the 3rd floor there is

  • the library with books, audio books and games and 
  • the quiet room for sleeping and resting

 

Outdoor Facilities

Our small outdoor area has some playground equipment and offers space to be out and about with vehicles

Daily Schedule

The children arrive at the nursery from 7.00 a.m.

They have the opportunity to eat the breakfast they have brought with them in the bistro until about 9.30 a.m.

The individual function rooms are opened by 8.30 a.m.

During the time of arrival, the children decide where and with whom they would like to spend their time. Based on their interests, they decide which rooms they will go to.

During this time, for example, birthdays are celebrated and activities take place.

Lunch starts at 11.30 a.m. in the bistro. The bistro has room for 10 children.

Until 1.30 p.m., the children have the opportunity to eat lunch in the company of a specialist. The time of lunch can be chosen by the children themselves, but the teachers make sure that each child goes to lunch.

After lunch, the children can rest or sleep in the quiet room if they are accompanied, and there is also the possibility of withdrawing to other rooms.

Function rooms are still open during lunch and rest.

Some of the children are collected at 2.00 p.m.

The function rooms are open according to the children's needs.

From about 3.00 p.m. the children are collected.

The nursery closes at 5.00 p.m.

 

The crèche opens at 7.30 a.m.

Between 7.30 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. the children come to the crèche. A personal welcome for each child and their parents is very important to us. It is also important for us to have a brief exchange of information between the parents and the specialist about the day ahead or special features that affect the day at the nursery and/or the child.

In the form of an open breakfast, the crèche children have the opportunity to eat the breakfast they have brought with them in the dining room from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

In order to give the child the opportunity to have breakfast in peace, please bring it by 8:45 a.m. at the latest if it has not yet had breakfast at home. The breakfast time is supervised by a specialist. The children decide for themselves when they would like to eat. However, we accompany them to the dining room at the latest shortly before the end of breakfast time. We make sure that every child has had breakfast.

We start the day together with a morning circle at 9:00 a.m. Here we play circle games, sing songs and plan the day with the children.

The following time until 11:15 a.m. is used for free play or for specific educational activities. These take place indoors or outdoors in our outdoor area. We regularly explore the immediate surroundings of the nursery on a walk or we go on excursions to nearby playgrounds or a wood in Cappel.

At about 11.30 a.m., we start lunch after a common saying at the table.

This is prepared fresh daily by our cook. A menu informs the parents about the daily changing menu. After the children have washed and brushed their teeth, the quiet time begins.

Bedtimes in the nursery are based on the individual needs of the children. After lunch, however, there is a general rest period in which children who are not asleep also have the opportunity to rest. During this time, we accompany the children in their play or, if necessary, when they fall asleep in the sleep room.

The time after the nap until pick-up is used for free play and educational activities. The first pick-up time ends at 2:00 pm. Children with a full-time place take a lunch snack that they have brought with them.

The nursery day ends at 4:00 p.m..

Food

Lunch is prepared fresh daily by our cook.

Intolerances and cultural aspects are taken into account when preparing the meals.

A menu with photos informs about the daily changing menu.

On special occasions there is also special food, e.g. the children choose a meal for their birthday.

Basics

The basis for our pedagogical work is the Hessian Education Plan for children from 0 - 10 years.

Conceptually, we work according to the situational approach and with educational spaces that are available to the children according to their own interests.

Based on the children's life situation, we offer them the opportunity to organize their day individually according to the needs-oriented work of the situational approach.

Employee

Our staff consists of qualified professionals, mainly educators, who accompany the children in their development every day. 

Within the framework of their training, interns expand our team under guidance.

Our team is complemented by the kitchen and cleaning staff.

Additional Offerings

In our daycare center there is a weekly psychomotoric movement offer in small groups, which is carried out by a qualified motologist.

Specifics

A conceptual focus of our facility is movement, which is a basic need of the child.

Since most children today have fewer and fewer opportunities to gain sufficient movement experiences due to environmental and living conditions, it is important to us to give the need for movement time and space in our daycare center according to our possibilities.

In order to be able to gather as diverse movement experiences as possible, we regularly offer the forest as a natural space.
