Current information

Introduction/specifics

The day care centre Am Waldacker welcomes you as parents to this portal. We would like to give you some important information about our institution.

We work on the basis of the situational approach. We perceive the children in their personalities, with their references to life and current learning and development issues.

Our needs-oriented work aims to respond to the children within the framework of their interests and current needs. For this reason, we see ourselves as an open house in which our children can move around. There they have the opportunity to choose between the areas (e.g. movement, role play, construction, reading/language and creative areas) in the house.

At the same time, we offer our daycare children fixed structures and rules that provide them with orientation.

It is especially important to us to offer the children play and movement activities that are close to nature.

Furthermore, we pay attention to the development of language through our language support worker.

Rooms

Our facility has two floors.

On the lower floor there is a role play room, a small play room, a room used as a learning workshop, a play hallway, kitchen and washroom as well as the cloakrooms.

In the upper area there is an open room with a workshop for creative and handicraft work as well as a reading corner. Furthermore, we have a room for building and construction. In the movement room, as in all other areas, there is an alternation between activities and free time.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor facilities offer many opportunities for movement and play.

Our children like the big hill, from which they can also dash down sometimes - in winter, for example, with plastic saucers.

The children love to use the sandpit, which can be shaded in summer.

They explore the climbing tree, depending on their confidence, with already developed climbing skills and their own safety. There are Mikado logs for balancing, large stones for jumping over, and a large wooden house.

The children use the niches between the bushes to play undisturbed.

Branches, leaves, small stones and our play and movement material, such as bobby cars, foot blocks to walk on, tyres and balls invite them to move. Along the way, the children feel their surroundings: the sand between their fingers, the scratchy bark, the wind or snow. They experience themselves quickly while dashing or playing tag, sitting in the sun or climbing.

Our outdoor area is slightly hilly. This provides the children with a stimulating area that offers them the experience of different heights and surfaces.

Our cherry tree delights the children with its fruit in summer.

Two football goals delight the little kickers.

Sometimes there are real rallies on the Bobby car track.

Daily Schedule

Our day care centre opens at 7.00 am. The rooms in the house are opened gradually, depending on the scheduling of the professionals and the number of children.

There is an open breakfast from 7.00 am - 10.00 am in our bistro, where the children also have lunch.

Lunch is served from 11.30 am. We start with the youngest children in our bistro, where there is only a small number of children at any one time. There is then a change to lunch with the remaining children. The children who are not eating continue to play outside or in the other rooms.

Two teachers accompany the lunch of the respective group.

Food

In our facility, fresh meals are prepared by the kitchen staff as far as possible. Some menu components are partly sourced from the Hoffmann menu (e.g. chicken nuggets). Occasionally, we have main courses from the Hoffmann menu, such as lasagne. Casseroles, potato, rice and pasta dishes are freshly prepared in our kitchen.
