Introduction/specifics

The day care centre is located in the upper part of the Marbach district.

The facility has 3 mixed-age groups with up to 20 children aged 3 years to school entry. The neighbourhood of the day care centre is characterised by many single-family and multi-family houses with up to 12 residential units. In the close vicinity of the facility, in a traffic-calmed zone, there are public playgrounds, field paths, forest and meadow areas. These are used for forest projects, walks and excursions. Also easily accessible on foot and/or by public transport are the primary school, the fire brigade pond and the community centre, which is used regularly. The city centre and nearby districts are easily reached by bus.

Furthermore, there are various offers in the vicinity from a football club, gymnastics and gymnastics offers, scouts as well as riding possibilities.

Rooms

The facility has group rooms, a movement room, a perception room, a breakfast corner, a staff room and a kitchen. The day care centre has a movement-friendly interior design, as well as different materials for sensory perception.

A room design in the day care centre that is conducive to development offers every child the opportunity to "do" their individual development. By consciously involving the children in everyday life, the design of the living and learning space is oriented towards their developmental prerequisites, interests and needs.

Outdoor Facilities

The outdoor area of the facility is divided into two levels by a wide slope. Since it faces south, it is bright and sunny, especially in summer. Each group room and the corridor are directly connected to the outdoor area by doors. Our outdoor area has many possibilities for play and movement: a tube slide, a wobbly bridge, a swing, a climbing ship, a large sandbox and a mud table. Through the design of the outdoor area, we want to bring the children closer to their immediate environment: the care of plants, experiences with different natural materials such as sand, earth, stones, wood and natural spaces for movement (bush as a cave) can be experienced.

Adjacent to the kindergarten grounds is a public playground, which can be used at any time.

Food

Food

It is important to us that children become aware of their bodies and learn to take responsibility for their own well-being and health.

There is a breakfast corner in the facility where drinks (water, milk, tea) are available for the children, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables to supplement breakfast. Each child brings their own breakfast from home.

Lunch is prepared on site every day by our cook and the housekeeping specialist. Regional and organic products are used. The children eat in their regular groups at 12:00. If necessary, an additional group is set up so that the number of children in the core groups is equalised.

Through the variety of food, they can experience different tastes and learn to recognise differences between hunger, satiety and appetite for something specific.

Basics

Pedagogical aspects

The point of reference and content of the pedagogical work is the consideration of the individual life situation of the children and their environment with the aim of holistic stimulation of the child's development. We work according to the situational approach. For us, this means taking the children's interests, needs and fears seriously and addressing them in a child-friendly way.

Teamwork with parents

A trusting cooperation with the parents is of great importance to us, because only in this way can we fulfil our claim to offer the children an individual relationship, care and educational offer. We see ourselves as an institution that complements the family.

A successful cooperation between parents and the professional staff includes an intensive and regular exchange and agreement on educational goals.
In addition, there are other forms of cooperation with parents: admission talks, parents' evenings, door-to-door talks, development talks, parent-child afternoons, joint celebrations, support association, parents' council/general parents' council, participation in projects and activities.

Specifics

Movement kindergarten

Children have a natural urge and joy to move. Our day care centre has been a certified movement kindergarten of the state of Hesse since 2009.

Within the weekly activities offered at the centre, there are various opportunities for the children to move: gymnastics for all groups at the Marbach community centre, ball sports with the pre-school children at the Marbach community centre and ball sports for children aged 3 to 5 in the centre's gymnasium in cooperation with the ball club BC Marburg and weekly activities on the topic of rhythmics.

Furthermore, our facilities offer many opportunities for movement. For example, the gymnasium, the long corridor, the slide, the ball pool, the platforms and much more.
