Kindertagespflegegruppe: Unser Regenbogen I (Becker)

Introduction/specifics

We have been working together since September 2008 and care each for five permanently assigned daycare children.

Stephan Gaberdiel: born 1968, father of an adult daughter, master baker and food technician.

Corinna Becker: born 1965, mother of four adult children, medical-technical radiology assistant and teacher for medical assistants.

Rooms

Our child-friendly premises are located in the side wing of the house in Gießener Straße 5 in Gisselberg and can be reached barrier-free.

In addition to two large, nicely furnished playrooms, we have a large hallway for running around, a kitchen that also serves as a creative space and where life is hustling and bustling, a bathroom and a bedroom.

Outdoor Facilities

Our spacious garden with a large sandbox, slides and vehicles invites the children to play in the fresh air.

We like to use it, especially since changing diapers, washing hands and even a short morning nap for the very youngest can be easily integrated into our daily routine.

Trees and a large awning protect us from the sun and even light rain.

Daily Schedule

Fixed routines and rituals are important to us, because they make the children feel safe.

Bringing time is from 7.30 a.m. with the possibilityfor a small snack for the early risers.

We pass the time with free play and first activities until breakfast at 9.30 a.m.

Afterwards, weather permitting it, we go outside. Otherwise we sing, dance, paint, knead, do puzzles, look at books, build, listen to stories in Kamishibai and much more.

Lunch is served at 11.30 a.m., after which we brush our teeth before taking a well-deserved nap. This rest is important for all Regenbogen children after an eventful morning.

After waking up around 2.00 p.m., we play until pick-up time at 3.00 p.m. at the latest.

Food

We prepare all meals fresh and emphasize the use of organic, regional and seasonal foods.

Special requests for various reasons (allergies, religion, vegetarian diet) can be accommodated after consultation and within certain limits.

We ask you to bring a water bottle with water or sugar-free tea for your child.

We emphasize the respectful handling of food. Even the youngest children practice eating on their own as far as possible.

Basics

We want to give the children entrusted to us a sense of security and safety so that they can discover the world with us on the basis of a stable bond. It is important to us to respect the individuality of the children. We don't want to train them to perform functions, but offer them a variety of opportunities to explore their world, to learn about their abilities, but also their limits.

We want to give the parents the opportunity to combine family and career in the best possible way through reliability and flexibility.

Details of our pedagogical work can be found in our detailed concept, which we will gladly hand aut to you if you are interested.

Qualification

We have successfully completed the basic qualification for daycare in the university city of Marburg in 2004 (Stephan) and 2007 (Corinna) and have been working in this profession ever since.

As master bakers with a competed instructor aptitude test and teacher for medical-technical assistants, respectively, we have acquired an additional qualifikation in adult education in our previous professions which has enabled us to assist in the basic qualification of our new collegues at the Evangelische Familienbildungsstätte in Marburg since 2015.

Quality Assurance

We take part in further training courses of at least 20 lessons every year. These mainly take place at the FBS in Marburg, but we also use our three advanced training days to broaden our professional horizons throughout Germany. Furthermore, we are required to take a two-year refresher course in first aid for infants and young children.

We work together with the youth welfare authorities of the university city of Marburg and the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf as well as the association Tagesmütter Marburg und Landkreis e.V.

The youth Welfare Office of the university city of Marburg is responsible for the regular extension of our care permit.

Teamwork with parents

A trusting educational partnership with the parents is the basic prerequisite for a successful daycare relationship.

Only parents who place their children in our arms with conviction can offer their child the necessary security to feel comfortable with us.

Good cooperation with parents is therefore very important to us.

In daily door-to-door talks we receive important information in order to be able to deal with each child individually.

Settling is an exciting time for both parents and children, and we work with you to make it as smooth as possible.

Parents' evenings are used to plan vacations and to share interesting topics.

Telephone calls or individual meetings for personal questions are of course possible at any time by arrangement.

Specifics

Because of our cooperation we succeeded in maintaining the family character of our day care center on the one hand, while at the same time enjoying the advantages of the presence of a second caregiver.

We will be happy to explain the details in a personal conversation or you can find them in our detailed concept.

Overview

We care for children from birth until they are three years old or enter kindergarten.

Since experience shows that acclimation is easiest around the first birthday, we ask you to take this into account in your planning.

Children over  the age of two will only be acclimated in exceptional cases.
