Current information

Introduction/specifics

Dear moms and dads, my name is Anja Fröhlich. Together with my youngest daughter and colleague Josephina Fröhlich, we have formed a large family daycare center "Marburger Minis". This is located in the university town of Marburg in the Ockershausen district.

Rooms

The Marburg Minis have a 125m² apartment specially furnished for them to play in. We have two large playrooms with a store, children's kitchen, Lego, dolls, cars and much more. In one room there is a large castle, the Marburg Magic Castle, and in the other room there is also a castle. There is a large hallway that would pass as a separate room connecing all the rooms. At the back of our apartment is the bedroom and dining room, the kitchen and the toilets.

Outdoor Facilities

Outside, we have a covered outdoor area where the children have access to sandpits, a slide, vehicles and a playhouse. Each child has their own plant pot, which we tend and harvest with the children depending on the season.

Daily Schedule

7:00 - 8:30 Bring time
Your child is brought by you, says goodbye and can now play freely until breakfast.
Any special needs will be discussed briefly.
8:30 - 9:00 Breakfast
Now everyone has breakfast together, which is provided by us.
9:00 - 11:00 Free play
When everyone has finished breakfast, we play, read or paint, although we usually go outside during this time.
11:00 - 11:15
When we come back from outside, we tidy up together. Then we have a small snack. Afterwards, everyone is changed or goes to the toilet. Of course, nappies can be changed at any time if necessary.
11:15 - 12:45 Sleeping/ cooking
Your child is now put to bed. We sing a lullaby to put them to sleep. During this time, we cook a varied and fresh meal every day and the little ones either wake up by themselves or are lovingly woken up by us around 12:45. They are then changed again and dressed.
13:00 - 13:30 Lunch
After the “Guten Appetit” saying, everyone eats lunch together. Depending on each child's stage of development, we mainly let the little ones eat independently and help if necessary.
13:30 - 13:45 Care
The little ones brush their teeth on their own and we help them at the end. Then we wash their hands. Everyone is changed again if necessary.
13:40 - 14:00 Free play
Your child will now play inside or, if the weather is fine, outside until you pick them up.
13:45 - 14:00 Pick up
During this time you will pick up your child. Any special needs will be discussed briefly.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday our care time is between 7:00 and 14:00
Wednesday the care time is between 7:00 and 14:30. The pick-up time is always at 14:30 due to our music day on Wednesday.
Dear parents, please always arrive approx.15 minutes before the end of the care time, so that we can still have a “door and hinge conversation”.
The schedule is for orientation. Variations, time shifts and changes are possible depending on events and special circumstances during the childcare period.

Food

We all have breakfast together in the morning. We provide the breakfast. Breakfast is bread with, for example, cheese, quark, jam, vegetarian sausage, tomatoes or cucumber, depending on your child's mood.
Before bedtime there is a small snack, for example fruit, yoghurt, etc.
While the little ones are sleeping, we prepare a fresh lunch. It is important to us that it is cooked with a variety of seasonal ingredients. We always cook vegetarian meals, except when fish is served.
During our childcare hours, we try to avoid sweets and eat as little sugar as possible. There are exceptions on birthdays and other celebrations, when we love to prepare waffles with the children.
The children drink water or unsweetened tea and drinking is of course allowed at any time at the table, as the children usually drink from open cups.
We can cater for special dietary requirements by prior arrangement.

Basics

Our lives have developed naturally and our natural selves know exactly the plan for our best possible development.
It is therefore best if we give the builders of our future as much free rein as possible and encourage them in their self-development and pick them up or give them help where they are in their development. Providing the space and help for self-awareness and the necessary support and encouragement at the respective stages of development without depriving them of their self-awareness. This is a great challenge for us, which I look forward to with joy and confidence. With our experience, we are quick to explain to others how something should work. But self-development and ingenuity come without these instructions and all too often leave us amazed at how things can be used in other ways. It is important to me that your child feels comfortable with me, that I give your child support and an environment in which it can trust. That they make new friends and that they enjoy coming to me. My aim is to be a trustworthy and loving childminder for your child so that you as parents can go about your everyday life in a relaxed and carefree manner.
I look forward to meeting you and your child!

Qualification

I trained as a medical assistant and worked in the gynecology department at the UKGM, most recently in the postpartum ward with newly hatched babies.
I have been playing the recorder, alto flute and piano since I was 9 years old, and in 2001 I successfully completed a 1-year internship at the Harmonie Kunterbunt music school with my own group of 8 children and regular attendance at the kindergarten for early musical education.
I am happily married and with my husband we have 5 lovely daughters, a wonderful son and 3 sugar-sweet grandchildren, number 4 and 5 are on the way and are awaited with great anticipation.

And why did I become a childminder?
Because I finally have the opportunity to realize my dream of working with my daughters. I have always enjoyed working with little people, so it was a logical step for me to become a childminder.

I completed my qualification as a childminder in July 2025.

Additional Offerings

Mondays we all go shopping together.
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and depending on the weather, we decide whether we want to go for a walk, be creative or do gymnastics that morning.
Wednesday we sing and dance with the little ones. The children learn some finger plays, rhymes and movement songs and can try out different instruments and experience their first own music.
Nature is important to us
Each child is given their own plant pot, which is planted, tended and harvested together according to the season.

Quality Assurance

Every two years I refresh my first aid course for infants and take part in hygiene training at the public health department.
I take part in at least 20 teaching units per year in high-quality further training courses in the field of child day care at the Evangelische Familienbildungsstätte.
I am a member of the association Tagesmütter Marburg und Landkreis e.V.

Teamwork with parents

The cooperation with you as parents is very important to me. Regular, direct exchange, mutual trust and honesty about everything, whether praise or criticism, leads to good cooperation. I will inform you about your child's development at regular intervals and also at any time, if there is a need. A parents' evening takes place once or twice a year.
The acclimatization of your child is based on the Berlin Model, which I will be happy to explain in a personal meeting.

Specifics

The great thing about our location is that we have so many options. From here, it's easy to get out into nature, to the forest or the Lahn, to the playground or to the city. We go on discovery tours with the help of the multiple baby carriages

The right way to treat animals is important to us.The friendship between children and dogs is a very special one. Dogs promote social skills such as compassion and responsibility, as well as an understanding of the needs of others. Dealing with a dog requires consideration, which is particularly challenging for younger children. My aim is to show the children that a dog is a living being with its own needs and is not always available. It is very important to show children the correct behavior towards a dog, from an early age. This is the only way both sides can benefit enormously from each other.

Our dog Famara is a herding dog without a guarding or hunting instinct. She is very sweet, calm, has a balanced nature and has grown up with our children and grandchildren. She will have her own retreat in day care and will not be with the children without my supervision. We will go for walks together with Famara.

News

Every birthday is duly celebrated here during childcare hours. Of course also the Easter bunny and Santa Claus visit us here. We consciously experience spring, summer, fall and winter with materials that we collect together and then decorate together in our day care.
Every year, outside of the daycare hours, we hold a summer partyon our large meadow with all families and with our toddler-experienced horses.
In the weeks before your child starts kindergarten, we prepare them for this new stage in their life. We read and tell a few stories about kindergarten so that your child is full of anticipation for this new stage of life.
On the last day before attending kindergarten, your child is celebrated and bid farewell and receives a small photo book full of memories from us.
