Introduction/specifics

The ZABLchen is a nursery for children aged six months to three years. We offer empathic care with an eye to individual needs. Your child will have a fixed nursery teacher and belong to a small group. Our rooms are friendly and child appropriate.

Monday -Thursday: 7.30 am - 4 pm

Fiday: 7.30 am - 2.30 pm

Rooms

While two nursery teachers jointly use a kitchen, washroom and living room, each group has their own room for resting and retreating. In all our rooms potentially dangerous spaces are especially secured (oven, fridge and dishwasher) and child appropriate furniture and crockery are available. The kitchen is fully equipped so that the nursery teachers can prepare simple meals and snacks together with the children.

In the playrooms the children have lots of space to play and learn, form friendships and have fun. These rooms offer various and diverse play areas.

The play and resting rooms enable the carers to meet individual needs and offer areas for little breaks. Every child has their own spot and mattress for napping. Our bathrooms offer various spots for nappy changing.  

Outdoor Facilities

Outside area:

The children have their own enclosed garden including a playground: they can choose between a large sandpit, which is shaded from the sun by a large sun sail, a play house, a slide, seesaw, and various vehicles.

Daily Schedule

Regularly recurring rituals and fixed daily schedules make children feel safe and secure. We have clearly structured schedules not only within each group, but also within the ZABLchen as a whole.

Daily schedule:

7.30 – 8.30 am

• Arrival time (welcoming the children, exchange with parents, free play)

8.30 am

• breakfast

9 – ca. 11 am

• Work on projects, various activities on offer (singing, dancing, making music, drawing, crafting, experimenting, etc.), free play, spending time in the playground, going for walks, etc.

ca. 11 am

• Jointly tiding up, preparing the napping area, change of nappies, laying the table, washing hands

11.30 – 12 noon

• Lunch followed by brushing teeth 12 noon – 2 pm

• Quiet time (sleeping or resting). During this time the children should not be picked up.

From 2 pm onwards

• Free play, first possibility of pick-up (exchange with parents, saying goodbye to the children)

3 pm

• Afternoon snacks

2 pm - 4 pm

• Free play, crafting, playground pick up time 

Food

Meals:

The ZABLchen prepares breakfast, a warm lunch, and a little afternoon snack. We offer child-appropriate, varied and nutritious food. Lunch is delivered by Apetito and heated up by the nursery teachers. The meals meet the current quality standards for catering in childcare  and were checked and approved by the German Society for Nutrition. Receiving our meals from Apetito makes it possible for us to offer food that meets individual requirements (allergies, religious preferences, etc.) and is always fresh.

Eating together according to jointly agreed upon rules and rituals is very important to us. The children always have access to drinks (water and unsweetened teas) and can take a cup without needing to ask.

We offer lots of fresh fruit for breakfast and snacks and do without sweets.

Basics

The essential basis of the pedagogical work is the "Hessian Education and Childcare Plan for Children from 0 to 10 Years in Hessen". The child as a unique personality is the focus of the pedagogical work in every ZABLchen. It is important to recognise the needs of each child, to accompany their individual developmental steps and to provide support and assistance.

Employee

The qualified child day carers have a permit for child day care according to § 43 SGB VIII and are personally qualified to work in child day care.

Cooperations

In cooperation with the childcare service of the University City of Marburg we pursue the common goal of promoting education and individual needs-based care.

Teamwork with parents

A trusting relationship between parents and day carers is an essential component of care in a ZABLchen. It forms the basis for the child to settle into the ZABLchen group and feel comfortable. Only through a trusting relationship is it possible to recognise and respond to the individual needs of a child and to promote its development together.
