Introduction/specifics

Dear families,
We are very happy to welcome you and your child to our St. Maria daycare family.
In the beautiful district of Zech, our small, two-group paradise awaits you at the edge of a little forest — a place to arrive and feel at ease.

Our philosophy:
A clear educational foundation and a trusting cooperation with families are essential for a child’s development.

Rooms

  • Our children attend one of the two base groups in our facility. These are connected by an intermediate meeting area. The room concept is completed by our garden. It is specially designed to meet the needs of our daycare and can be accessed and viewed from every room. This makes it a third educational space for our St. Maria daycare.
  • Transparency is very important to us for our families. That is why, in the morning, they enter our daycare through the garden. They can look through the windows into the rooms and are therefore very close to everything that is happening. They arrive directly at our small reception, where a team member personally greets them every day.
  • Your child gets dressed in our cloakroom and then enters their group room, where they are warmly welcomed.
  • Each group offers a variety of play areas where your child can experience engaging free play. In addition, we provide small breakfast corners offering a delicious buffet for every child.
  • For household-related activities, our children’s kitchen is available.
  • A spacious movement room is located in the adjacent building.
  • On our upper floor, you will find the administrative office.
  • A connecting corridor links us directly to the facilities of our parish community, St. Maria K.d.F.
  • For sports activities, we have access to the gym in our neighborhood.
  • On so-called “lake days,” your children experience the wonderful nature along the shores of Lake Constance.
  • Walks in the district and the forest enrich the daycare’s world of experiences.

Outdoor Facilities

Thanks to our building structure, our daycare is protected from street influence and public traffic. Like a small atrium, the daycare surrounds the play area, offering a sense of shelter. Only with the view window toward our beautiful forest does the building structure open up.

  • In 2017, our garden was redesigned. The needs of the children guided the process. Now, our outdoor area offers everything a child’s heart could wish for.
  • On lake days, we spend our free-play time at the beautiful shores of Lake Constance.
  • Walks help us explore the surrounding area.

We would be happy for you to get to know our St. Maria daycare in person. Feel free to schedule a visit with us. Just give us a call.

Daily Schedule

Dear families,

We want to give our children the feeling of being exactly in the right place. Our daily routine is guided by this principle.

The morning in our St. Maria daycare family:

  • The children enter through our garden. This allows them to take their first curious glimpses through the windows into their daycare.
  • At our reception desk, they are warmly welcomed.
  • Your child says goodbye to you at the door.
  • Now their time begins. A cozy moment in the cloakroom — everyone at their own pace.
  • In the group room, the day begins with a morning circle.
  • Free-play time is filled with many activities that bring your child joy. Together with other children, they enjoy a wonderful time.
  • Daily activities also take place in small groups and/or across groups.
  • After this phase, the children transition into garden time. Weather independence is ensured through appropriate clothing.
  • After shared play, the first children are picked up by their families.

Lunch:

  • In a shared circle, the children enjoy a delicious meal.
  • Depending on the child’s needs and energy level, a calm midday period follows — this may be a picture book, a massage, or even a walk.

The afternoon:

  • After the midday rest, the children move smoothly into free play again. This may take place in the group rooms or in our garden.
  • Additional activities, such as craft projects, enrich the free-play offerings.
  • Once a week, we offer an afternoon of musical early education. Ms. Zillgith designs this session following the “Playing with Music” method.
  • The school’s preparatory courses are also held weekly in the afternoon.
  • After a fulfilling day, your child is warmly greeted by you and says goodbye to their educator.

You can find more detailed information on our homepage or during a personal visit. Feel free to call us.

Food

Breakfast buffet:

  • Your children can look forward to a daily breakfast buffet.
  • Our housekeeping staff prepares a rich and varied selection for your child.
  • A small selection of drinks completes the offer.
  • The buffet is available every day until 10:30 a.m.
  • Each child may independently choose with whom they would like to eat and what they would like to have. During this time, your child is never left alone. The educational staff accompany them and ensure that they become as independent as possible.
  • They develop important everyday skills and deepen their conversational abilities and friendships.

Lunch:

  • Our daycare is supplied by Schattmaier.
  • Every day there is a main meal served with a side salad.
  • With a well-designed routine, lunch becomes a sociable and enjoyable part of the day in which every child feels comfortable — which makes the food taste twice as good.
  • Here, too, we place great value on everyday skills, table manners, and togetherness.

Basics

Our Mission Statement:

At our St. Maria daycare, we do not view democracy and religion as opposites, but as foundational values that enrich one another. Together, they form a social democracy.

This symbiosis creates a culture of togetherness shaped by respect, participation, and humanity. The right to have a voice and to be involved grows from the recognition of every individual. In this way, everyone in our St. Maria daycare family develops courage, gratitude, and humility.

These qualities are essential for being ready to learn for one’s own life and to contribute to the well-being of a community.

To support this, we use pedagogical components that allow children to experience these principles:

  • Our participatory settling-in model
  • The “Playing with Music” method
  • The state program Language Daycare
  • Guidance inspired by Maria Montessori
  • Marte Meo
  • Religious education
  • Physical education
  • Lake days
  • FEX
  • Swimming course
  • Ice skating
  • Library visits
  • “No”-training
  • Non-violent communication
  • Cooperation with partners / network collaboration

Our concept is designed not only for our children, but for the entire St. Maria daycare family. We are supported by a network of cooperation partners who accompany us in this mission. Homepage
