Introduction/specifics

The "Kita und Familienzentrum" St. Hildegard (Kindergarden & Family Center) is located right next to Limburg's "Schafsberg" recreational area and very close to Limburg's city center. We are also in the immediate vicinity of the "Theodor Heuss School". The Limburg hospital and the "Tilemann School" are also nearby.
We offer space for up to 75 children aged between two and six years in three groups and have been working in so-called "open groups" for many years.
Participation is very important to us. The children can decide for themselves, always in consultation with the teachers, in which room they would like to play with their friends. The gym and the outdoor area are also free play areas for the children. In addition, the children can choose when they have breakfast in the morning (with the exception of special activities), in which group they would like to have lunch and which "morning circle" ( they would like to take part in.

Our healthy and child-friendly nutritional offer consists of a three-course lunch menu and an afternoon snack. The children bring their breakfast from home, but we make sure that it is a healthy and chewy breakfast as part of dental hygiene and a healthy diet.

Every morning between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m., the children take part in three to four mixed-age morning circles.

We have been a recognized family center since November 2011 with the aim of strengthening, advising and supporting families.

We have been a recognized training center for many years and train pedagogical specialists. We offer the following opportunities: Professional internships, social assistant training and orientation internships as part of various types of school.

We also offer the opportunity for a voluntary social year and the Federal Voluntary Service.

Rooms

Our rooms offer a harmonious, stimulating and individual environment.
They are designed to be friendly, bright and inviting, and their assignment as functional rooms ensures intensive engagement with the materials on offer.

Role play room ("red room")

In this room, the children can dress up, play in the play kitchen, immerse themselves in other worlds with the play materials or simply play classic table games. There is a regularly changing range of materials.

Creative room ("green room")

In this generously equipped room, the children can pursue their creative streak and develop freely. They have a wealth of different materials at their disposal, most of which can be used freely.

Construction room ("yellow room")

Shaping, stacking, lining up, connecting - the children can build freely with Duplo, Lego or wood, for example. Other materials are also used to allow imagination and creative construction to be lived.

The room facilities are complemented by a large gym, a bedroom (equipped with up to 12 beds), an "individual activity/small group" room (intensive room), as well as an office, a meeting and staff room and a kitchen.

Food

The menu is posted daily for the children and parents in pictures and writing on a pinboard in the hallway. We also publish it via our parent app.

Products that are rich in vitamins and fiber, tasty and suitable for children are a good prerequisite for a healthy diet. They are essential for children's physical and mental development.

We get our lunch from the company Apetito. It supplies high-quality frozen meals, which are prepared in the kitchen by our kitchen worker in the Combimaster.

Apetito adheres to the following guidelines:

- Mild seasoning of food for children

- Preference for herbs as seasoning

- Sparing use of salt and use of iodized table salt

- Responsible use of sugar

Apetito does not use:

- Flavor enhancer monosodium glutamate

- sweeteners

- Artificial colorants

- Phosphate in meat and sausage products

- Alcohol and alcohol flavorings

Labeled ingredients are indicated on the notice board.

The kitchen worker always prepares a delicious starter and dessert for the children.

She accommodates all individual questions, food intolerances etc. as far as possible.

As we often have Muslim children in our kindergarden and also know that pork is not necessarily the best meat for our children, we do not use pork at all. We also limit the selection to one meat dish per week.
