Introduction / Special Features
Our daycare centre is housed in a beautiful, historic villa that has been carefully renovated and complemented by a modern, single-story extension added in 2018. It is a municipal facility and has been operating for over 60 years.
The centre offers space for a total of 130 children from the age of one until they start school. This includes 35 nursery places, 95 kindergarten places, and 9 integration places. Most children are cared for in six age-homogeneous groups for ages 3–6, located in the villa. The nursery, for children aged 1–3 years, is situated in the new building and divided into two mixed-age groups.
We are a full-day daycare centre, open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Extended hours are available from 6:00–7:00 a.m. and from 4:00–4:30 p.m. upon request. An employer’s certificate is required for these extended hours.
Our facility is located in a quiet area of Lichtentanne, surrounded by a large park with spacious lawns, a duck pond, and a wide variety of old, shade-providing trees. A small forest adjoins the park area.
The daycare centre consists of two connected buildings: a three-story villa with a converted basement and a modern, ground-level new building. In the new building, the nursery children of the Bienchen (Little Bees) and Käfer (Beetles), aged one to three years, can learn and play in bright, friendly rooms.
The modern extension is connected to the traditional former manufacturer’s villa—home to our Igel (Hedgehogs), Eichhörnchen (Squirrels), Mäuse (Mice), Hasen (Rabbits), Füchse (Foxes), and Schmetterlinge (Butterflies)—via a glass foyer. In addition to the six group rooms on the lower floors, our therapy, sports, and creative rooms are located on the upper floor of the villa. This area is used for projects and various therapeutic services for children with special educational needs. Speech therapy sessions take place here three times a week in age-specific groups, led by our HPZ educators.
Our beautifully designed, spacious nursery garden area features a large sandbox, swings, spring riders, a play structure with crawl tunnel and slide, as well as various small play equipment. The kindergarten outdoor area offers numerous opportunities for play and physical activity, including two large play castles, a sandbox, a trampoline, swings, and a variety of ride-on toys and small play equipment.
