Introduction/specifics

The children and their individual needs are always in the foreground with us. Our goal is to give them enough space and time to develop so that they can discover and explore the world at their own pace. They are optimally supported by our situation-oriented concept, as it always starts where the current interests and needs of the child are. In addition, it helps them to better understand and comprehend themselves and their environment so that they can process personal experiences and experiences well.

Another essential part of our facility is the integration of children with special needs. It is important to us to convey acceptance and appreciation for each individual and, above all, to live through one's own attitude. We see ourselves as a community in which everyone can learn from everyone and enrich the group with their individuality. Right from the start, the children learn how to treat themselves and others with respect. We support as a source of ideas and provide assistance when necessary.

As a supplement to our pedagogical work, we have set ourselves the environment as a focus. We want to bring children closer to our natural world in all its facets and create an awareness of what happens when the environment suffers harm. For us, environmental awareness naturally includes knowledge of the nature of natural materials, biodiversity of plants and animals, habitats and the natural environment of the daycare center.  But also the inner attitude and the subsequent behavior of each individual. Through regular environmental education, we want to achieve that we, as a daycare center, treat nature and its treasures with respect and appreciation and deal with it accordingly. In addition, we would like to try, taking into account our possibilities, to do without plastic or to develop sustainable strategies when using them and to reflect on them again and again. Through offers such as garbage collection campaigns, regular forest and nature days, constructive projects and animal-assisted pedagogy, we offer a successful framework for optimal implementation.

Rooms

Entrance area and hallway
When entering our house, you will find yourself in our spacious entrance area. In addition to an information board and the weekly wall, every guest is invited to help themselves to our café. Every child knows his place and finds everything important for the day there. In addition, the area and the long corridor are used for extensive trips with our vehicles.

Group room                                                                                                                                                                              Our group room is divided into several areas. For all materials, we attach particular importance to wood or fabric materials. On the construction carpet you will find many vehicles, dolls, animals and rails for railways or roads. Opposite in the role-playing area there is plenty of space in our play kitchen. For a role play, the children can dress appropriately in the disguise corner.

In the back of the room you will find our creative area with all sorts of materials to be able to unfold artistically.

Conveyor room/library
Another versatile room is our library, which is also used as a support room for children with increased need for support. The large sofa invites you to linger extensively and relaxed moments with a picture book viewing. In addition, there is a small table in the room, which is often used for board games. To round off the cosiness in this room, our large aquarium is now being set up and is a real eye-catcher.

"Snoezel room"
Our Snoezel room is the perfect retreat to relax. With its warm light elements and materials for testing with all the senses, the room is very popular with all children. After lunch, the daily dream trip takes place there, which for the participating WeidenKITZ represents a welcome change from the otherwise too lively everyday events.

Kitchen                                                                                                                                                                                    Our spacious kitchen is used for all meals of the day. In the morning, the open breakfast takes place, where the children can decide when and with whom they go for breakfast. A similar situation arises at lunch in our facility. In order to ensure optimal educational accompaniment, our lunch is divided into two groups. Every Monday, the children decide in which group they want to eat the whole week. The daily changing menu of meals is varied and varied, so there is something for all children.

Last but not least, in the afternoon our tea time takes place either in the kitchen or outside in the garden.

Our outdoor area                                                                                                                                                                  Right outside our front door is our small outdoor area. There is a spacious sandpit that invites you to play and build sand castles. In good weather, our large picnic blanket for reading and playing is prepared in the morning, which is gladly used by all children for a few quiet minutes. To train the balance, the permanently installed movement sparcour made of tree trunks can be used.

In the rear area on Mühlenweg we have another outdoor area, which we would like to use from spring 2021 for vegetables, berries and fruit trees. In addition, it is important to us to create areas for insects and bees in order to support the conservation of biodiversity in Germany.

In order to give the children enough exercise, we visit the surrounding playgrounds and forests in Kaltenweide every morning. Thus, the children have an optimal mix of nature, movement and special experiences in everyday kindergarten life.
