Introduction/specifics

Kita and Hort Kaltenweide

"Basically, it's always the connections with people that give life its value." (William Humboldt)

Welcome to our house for children!

We would like to invite you to get to know our house, where the child is the focus of our educational work, where people meet and everyone is welcome.

Our house should offer children a living space in which they feel accepted and secure and can thus engage in new life experiences and make new developments.

Kita Kaltenweide

We offer space for 100 children from the age of 3 years to school age. Every day, our large team dedicates itself with great commitment to the individual needs of each individual. We have 4 all-day groups available for the kindergarten, in which the children are cared for during the core time from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition, an early service from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and a late service from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m 5:00 p.m. can also be booked.

Hort Kaltenweide

Our 60 day care children are cared for in three outside day care groups. During school hours, they have a care period from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the school holidays, this time is extended to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our after-school care children can also book our early service. There are holiday programs for which you can register for the holidays. A bike ride to the strawberry field, a visit to the Feno or the museum are just a few examples.

12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. after-school care during school hours

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. After-school care during the school holidays

Rooms

The Center (the heart) of our house is our entrance and function hall, which is freely accessible to every group. In it, movement construction sites can be set up, and cross-group encounters in the form of children's assemblies, festivals and projects can arise. Each adjoining group room has a gallery and a retreat room, its own access to the outside area, as well as a group cloakroom and an adjacent children's toilet. In addition to the hall, there is also a children's kitchen, a library and a workroom available as additional rooms for all groups.

Our after-school care children can call the three outside groups their “home”. One of our after-school care groups of 20 children is located on the premises of the primary school in Kaltenweide and our other two after-care groups are located behind the fire brigade in a branch office. Our after-school care centers each have their own outdoor area in front of the door and can also use the schoolyard after classes have ended. All rooms invite the children to feel comfortable, to explore curiously, to find peace and relaxation, to develop imagination and creativity and much more.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor area

...and at the end of the day, a child should have dirty feet, disheveled hair and bright eyes...

Kids want to be outside!

Children can discover, experience and explore nature on our large outdoor area. With rustic trees, willow tipis, large areas of sand and water and much more, you have the opportunity to pursue your urge to explore, your curiosity and your need for exercise every day. This gives them the feeling of freedom, adventure and joie de vivre.

Our after-school care centers each have their own outdoor area in front of the door and can also use the schoolyard after classes have ended.

Food

Our meals

We cook freshly every day in our in-house kitchen! A child-friendly lunch and a fresh tea time are prepared for daycare and after-school care children.

Our six kitchen fairies ensure that everything runs smoothly and prefer products from regional suppliers and seasonal cuisine. Also on specific needs such as allergies, food intolerance, etc. take care and are always informed through regular training.

As a full-time educational institution, we make an important contribution to the healthy nutrition of the children. The basis for the quality standards is the DGE, the German Society for Nutrition.

We also have a children's kitchen where the educators can cook and bake together with the children.

Basics

Our mission statement: "The magic of good educational work lies in enchanting children" (Mareile Diekhof)

A guiding principle that is reflected in all aspects of our educational work. The focus is always on the child and their individual needs. Every child should have the chance to discover themselves, to develop freely and to develop into an independent personality. To achieve this, space, time and security are needed. The attitudes of the attachment and attachment figures (parents/educators) play a special role. For this reason, we strive for close cooperation between parents, educators and children. We are an open house, where everyone is welcome, where we meet each other in a friendly and respectful manner and where we support each other. Wishes, concerns and worries always find a protected space. In our kindergarten, everyone is closely connected.

"Basically, it's always the connections with people that give life its value." (Wilhelm von Humboldt)

The most important pillar of our pedagogical work lies in the bonding and relationship work. Only when children have a safe haven are they willing to discover the world with all its facets and fascination with curiosity. Play is another important pillar in our daily lives. Here the children can develop freely, try out skills and build up basic skills.

In our home for children we have decided to use the situation-oriented approach according to Dr. to live with Armin Krenz. It is subject to the current developmental psychological principles and the latest findings in brain and attachment research, as well as educational research. This means that we live a consistently child-oriented pedagogy based on the 16 basic needs (for example: safety and respect, love, curiosity, movement, time and rest) and the 6 forms of expression of the child (for example: play, painting, the movement) based.

We would be happy to show you a personal insight into our premises and our everyday educational work!
