Introduction/specifics
The Malteser Kita Wiesenschatz will initially commence operations in the 2026/27 kindergarten year with one group of up to ten children in the premises of the Malteser Kita Schatzinsel, Hollandsweg 83, Hövelhof. Once the new building is completed and ready for occupancy, childcare services will continue at the Riege location. The new facility will accommodate up to 52 children in three groups.
The provider of the childcare center is Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V., District of Westphalia-Lippe, with its administrative office in Paderborn. Professional support and guidance are provided by the Diocesan Caritas Association of Paderborn (Diözesan-Caritasverband Paderborn e.V.).
The aim of the center is to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for children, families, and employees. Educational work is guided by the needs and well-being of the children while supporting families through reliable and responsive childcare services.
Regular drop-off and pick-up times are scheduled during the following time slots: 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 2:30 p.m. onwards.
The center offers 45-hour and 35-hour (flexible) childcare arrangements. With the flexible 35-hour option, parents or guardians determine the distribution of the childcare hours for each kindergarten year according to their individual needs.
Communication between the center and families is facilitated through the “kitaplus” childcare app. The app includes a center calendar, a digital notice board for general information, and personal mailboxes for direct communication. In addition, parents can report absences via the app and order or cancel meals for the day until 8:00 a.m. Meal charges are calculated on a daily basis using a prepaid system.
