Current information

Introduction/specifics

Monthly, all-day forest days in Haxtergrund, with rental of the forest school.

Here children experience nature with all their senses. To deepen our knowledge, a forester accompanies us on some days. It also takes you through the forest with adventurous, educational offerings, games and stories. Lunch is delivered to the forest school by the caretakers of the Borchen community.

Visits to the Mallinckrodthof senior center:

In a 3-weekly We visit the senior citizens in the Mallinckrodthof at regular intervals. There they sing, play bowling, do crafts and spread a lot of joy.

Rooms

We have three group rooms, each of which also has an adjoining room. The groups are individually set up by their teachers and have appropriate play material. Within the groups there are various carpet/play areas as well as a sofa corner where you can rest, read or cuddle. The side rooms are allocated to different educational aspects. This should give the children the incentive to play in another group and thus strengthen their self-confidence. In one group room there is a large and small ball pit and gymnastics mats, and in another there is a role-playing area with a kitchenette and a dressing-up corner. Another group side room offers small opportunities for climbing and hiding.

In the entrance hall you will find our weekly review, which serves as a short statement of the day's content.

A photo gallery of all children with group assignment warmly welcomes all our visitors.

From here you go to the individual cloakrooms and groups, as well as to our gym.

The wall between the entrance hall and the gym is a mobile wall that can be opened for larger events.

Access to the kitchen with a row of windows is also located in the hallway. From here you and the children can watch our cook prepare the food. The hearty scent often reveals early in the morning what delicious food our cook is preparing.

Outdoor Facilities

Our beautiful, huge outdoor area invites you to run around, play and muddy in the sandy areas.

Outdoor facilities:

Large slide tower, U3 play equipment for climbing, hiding and sliding, trampoline, balancing pole, wicker teepee, three swings, a large nest swing and a large mud-sand area with water pump, many different vehicles for all ages, sand toys...

Daily Schedule

Depending on the booking times and the associated opening times, our drop-off time ends by 9 a.m. at the latest in your child's respective group.

The day then begins with a morning ice cream/welcome in all groups. This will be followed by breakfast together in your child's group.

The day continues with various planned activities and free play. Weather permitting, we go to our beautiful outdoor area every day.

Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. for the children who take a nap/nap. Children who take a nap move to the bear cave to eat.

The children from the bear cave who don't take a nap move to the beaver castle and the fox hole for lunch. Dinner will be served here at 12 p.m.

In the afternoon the bear cave remains closed, with exceptions. Children who are not picked up after 2:15 p.m. play in the other two groups, the gym or the outdoor area.

Food

We have our own kitchen and value good, healthy food. Our cook, who the children can see and observe through the large windows in the kitchen, is happy to respond to the wishes of the children and teachers in our children's conferences.

Your team Little Heroes Hessenberg

For many children, our daycare center is the place where they come from the family and take their first steps into public life. A new, important phase of life begins - not only for the children, but also for their parents. We make this transition warm and loving for everyone involved. The children should feel comfortable with us. From the loving care and often nursing of small children to preschool care, with the imparting of elementary educational content, we are there for your children. They should have space to play, learn with other children and experience these particularly important years of their childhood filled with fun and joy in a family atmosphere. Our three small, manageable groups with 12-15 children, aged 1-6 years, offer a family environment, special protection, mutual learning from each other and consideration. We are happy to help you raise your children together. As parents, you can go about your job without any worries. We attach great importance to rituals and rules and start every day at the same time with the morning circle and then having breakfast together. We particularly promote the natural integration of different ways of life. Regardless of whether they are children with disabilities or from other cultural and linguistic backgrounds - all children experience and practice the positive impact and tasks within living together through natural interaction. As an educational partner, we help your child achieve the greatest possible independence and good social interaction, which is the most important pillar for entering school. Holistic learning is the focus. Through participation, we give the children the opportunity to organize their morning.

Focus of our cross-group work

Free choice of play areas/groups (free play) each group offers a different range of games in the next room. In this way, the children should be supported in the partially open concept to visit another group to play. It promotes self-confidence and social contacts. Employee

Staff

We have very well-trained, motivated, pedagogical specialists working for us. The number of educators employed (staffing ratio/hours) is based on the contractually agreed childcare times. This results in an annual recalculation of the staff hours and the associated number of care staff.

Since August 2024 our team has consisted of:

9 specialists (trained/studied educators, full-time and part-time)

1 additional worker (currently studying/bachelor's degree in education, part-time)

1 cook

1 everyday helper

Teamwork with school

Collaboration with our local primary schools To ensure the transition from kindergarten to school, we work with the primary school associations in the municipality of Borchen. Before the school entrance, after your consent when registering for school, there will be an exchange of discussions between the school management/school social workers. The locations are in the districts of Kirchborchen and Etteln. Kirchborchen/Etteln primary school association:

Teamwork with parents

Parent work

Parent work An important part of our educational work is parental work. Not only should the children feel comfortable in our facility, but you as parents should too. A good relationship makes a lot of things easier and helps the child to settle in quickly and to feel safe and comfortable. An exchange with you is very important to us. Short door-to-door discussions take place daily during drop-off and pick-up times. We arrange an appointment with you for a parent-teacher meeting once a year. If you wish and need, you are welcome to arrange further appointments with us.

Collaboration with parents/parents' council

During the kindergarten year we often celebrate parties with the children.

We often need your support here. All parents are warmly invited to get actively involved.

In our facility, parents who are interested can join the parents' council and support the interests of our facility.

The collaboration with the parents' council provides great support for our tasks and is an important link within the facility.

He works actively at celebrations and events, mediates between parents and staff if necessary and can also be contacted if there are any problems.

The parents' council is always elected by the parents at the beginning of each kindergarten year (October).

We are always happy to accept questions and suggestions. We recognize criticism, suggestions, wishes and praise as helpful. Your comments will be incorporated into our service meetings and reflected on.

Overview

Criteria for the consideration of registrations for childcare places in the day care center (Kita)  (Acceptance criteria) Basics

In order to take advantage of a childcare place in a daycare facility, parents must have notified the youth welfare office in person, in writing or electronically at least six months before use of the care they require for their child, the desired scope of care and the type of care. If possible, this takes place in the daycare center of your choice during the registration week specified by the youth welfare office.

Parents who have a short-term need must report this to the youth welfare office immediately.

Children under the age of three and children from the age of three until they start school are accepted in the daycare centers. The care is provided for 25, 35 or 45 hours per week. Not every facility covers every age group and every care period. Rather, the care structure of each facility is reviewed annually based on the needs and in coordination with youth welfare planning and is determined for the coming kindergarten year.

Before a free place is allocated, an examination must be carried out based on the binding criteria according to point II.

The provider of the daycare center and the Paderborn district - youth welfare office - reserve the right to request evidence that the criteria are met.
