Introduction/specifics

The after-school care centre in Korb/Kleinheppach is a recreational educational facility. It is run by the municipality of Korb.

We operate on an open basis. Before and after school, children are free to choose their activities and playmates. They can play in five themed rooms or run around in the playground.

Children who are registered until 2.30 p.m. or 5.30 p.m. (after-school care children) are provided with a hot lunch.

Rooms

t the primary school in Korb, five rooms are reserved for before- and after-school care.

The rooms offer children the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities:

The ‘construction site’ has lots of building materials (Legos, building blocks).

In the ‘oasis’, children can move around or build houses and caves with large building blocks.

Homework can be done in the home room from 11:20 a.m. onwards.

The doll's room is ideal for role-playing and is a place of retreat when children need some peace and quiet.

The main room is mainly used for reading and crafts.

We also have access to a school playground and the school's workshop.

Daily Schedule

Children can come to us before school from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. We start the day with games, crafts and reading. The children are sent to their classes shortly before school starts (8:00 a.m.).

After school, the children can engage in activities according to their needs: exercise in the playground or quiet time, playing, crafts, board games, construction materials (e.g. Lego), etc. There is a wide range of options.

Those who wish to can also do their homework. A colleague is available to provide support in the ‘homework room’.

Between 12:00 and 13:30, lunch is served for children who are registered until 14:30/17:30.

From 2:30 p.m., the after-school care children do their homework. 

At around 3:30 p.m., there is a small snack.

We close at 5:30 p.m.

Food

Our food supplier is Diakonie Stetten. The food is prepared using the Cook&Chill method.

Our housekeepers offer fresh fruit or vegetables every day and homemade desserts 2 to 3 times a week.

The children decide what they want to eat at the counter.

Basics

We work openly and in a situation-oriented manner, so that the children have the opportunity to choose their activities individually.

The children are taken seriously with their wishes and needs. They are supported if they have any problems or concerns.

We attach great importance to social interaction.

Employee

Our current 13 core hours childcare staff come from a variety of professional backgrounds. They are trained in education and are very dedicated.

Four nursery teachers work at the same time. They continue to be responsible for the after-school care children after core hours childcare.

We are a training centre for students completing their nursery teacher training.
