Introduction/specifics

The Im Körble children's home is an educational facility with four groups that cares for children between the ages of one and school age. We work according to a partially open concept, i.e. there are fixed core groups for each child and it is possible to visit the play areas in another group. Joint projects and planning in mixed-age and same-age groups support this concept. Our in-house kitchen, where fresh meals are cooked every day, complements the educational quality in the area of home economics.

In our daily work, it is important to us to implement holistic education in accordance with the orientation plan in such a way that the children are encouraged and supported in their independence, development and self-confidence.

Through a variety of play activities, planning, actions, free play, observations and documentation, each child is to be encouraged and supported individually according to their stage of development. We want to be companions on their journey.

A well-structured daily routine with fixed rules and rituals gives the children a sense of orientation. The children's development is recorded through observation and documentation.

We are a team of well-trained professionals who care for children from 1 year old until they start school. The foundations of our daily work are based on the orientation plan of Baden-Württemberg and direct collaboration with the sponsor, the municipality of Korb, and many other cooperation partners.

In order to promote the social and individual development of the child within the community, we enter into a close, cooperative educational partnership with the parents.

Through cooperation and networking with different organizations and specialist services, we use our contacts for the benefit of the child.

Rooms

Das Kinderhaus ist in zwei Geschosse unterteilt. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich der Gruppenraum der VÖ-Gruppe. Dieser Bereich ist mit einem großzügigen und hellen Gruppenraum, einem Nebenraum und einer großen Garderobe ausgestattet. Ein eigener Toiletten- und Wickelbereich rundet das Platzangebot ab.  

Ebenfalls im Erdgeschoss befinet sich die großzügige Turnhalle, in der regelmäßig Bewegungsangebote für die Kinder stattfinden. Turnmatten, Trampoline, Bälle und Reifen sowie weiteres Kleinmaterial stehen dabei zur Verfügung. Für die U3-Kinder stehen zusätzlich Pikler-Elemente bereit.

Über das Treppenhaus gelangt man dann in das Obergeschoss des Kinderhauses. Dieses beherbergt drei große Gruppenräume mit veränderbaren Funktionsbereichen. Alle Gruppenräume sind mit einer Küchenzeile und einem Nebenraum ausgestattet. Die Nebenräume dienen dabei als Spielbereiche, Räume für Kleingruppenangebote und als Schlafmöglichkeit.

Alle Gruppen des Kinderhauses verfügen über einen eigenen Gartenzugang.

Im Garderobenbereich befindet sich der gemeinsam genutzte "Körbles-Treff". Dieser steht im Alltag als gruppenübergreifender Spielbereich, aber auch als Raum für gemeinsame Aktionen und Projekte zur Verfügung. 

Von der Garderobe  gelangt man in den Badbereich, der die Toiletten, aber auch einen großen Wickelbereich beherbergt.

Angrenzend an die Garderobe befindet sich unsere hauseigene Küche. Die hauswirtschaftliche Fachkraft bereitet dort täglich frisch das Mittagessen für die Kinder zu. 

Outdoor Facilities

Das Kinderhaus hat ein großzügiges Außengelände mit unterschiedlichen Spiel- und Turngeräten. Durch die natürlichen Ebenen, Grasflächen und Hügel stellt die Anlage eine entsprechende Herausforderung an das Bewegungspotenzial der Kinder dar. Große Sandflächen und Klettergerüste laden zum Spielen ein. Zudem verfügt das Außengelände über Schaukeln, ein Bodentrampolin, ein Rutsche und Flächen zum Fahren mit Fahrzeugen. Ein weiteres Highlight sind die von den Kindern bepflanzten Hochbeete. Der Garten wird dabei von allen Gruppen gemeinsam genutzt, wodurch vielfältige Spielkontakte entstehen. Beschattet wird unser Garten nicht nur von großen Sonnenschirmen, sondern auch von großen Bäumen und Sträuchern. 

Daily Schedule

7:30 - 9:00 AM Arrival of the children, free play, time for activities and offers, free snack time in the over-3 groups, the under-3 children have breakfast together. All children should have arrived by 9:00 AM. Around 9:30 AM Last snack round: this is announced by a signal. Around 10:30 AM Morning circle in the main groups. Songs, finger games, activities, and offers are discussed and carried out together. 11:00 AM Common garden time. 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Lunch in the full-day groups. 12:00 PM Shared midday snack with a fruit and vegetable platter in the extended day (VÖ) group. From 12:00 PM, quiet and nap time begins in the side and group rooms (full-day). 12:30 - 13:30 PM In the VÖ area, it is free play time until pick-up. 1:30 - 2:00 PM Midday snack in the full-day area.

Further elements throughout the week:

- Each group has a gymnastics day once a week
- Once a week, the "preschool children team" takes place for children in their final year of kindergarten
- Once a week there is a muesli day, and once a month a joint breakfast
- Regular nature days as well as joint circles with all groups in the house

Food

BreakfastIn the children's center, children over 3 years old have the opportunity to have a free snack. The children decide for themselves when they want to take time to eat and when they want to become active again. Through the free breakfast, children learn to pay attention to their hunger and can respond to it in a need-oriented way. Each child brings a varied, balanced snack from home. At around 9:30 a.m., the children are alerted to the last snack opportunity by an acoustic signal (triangle, bell).Children under 3 years old have a snack together at the children's center at 9 a.m. Once a week, the professionals in the group prepare breakfast for the children.Throughout the day, water and tea are available to the children as drinks.Once a week is muesli day. The children are provided with muesli, fruit, and milk. Once a month, a breakfast prepared by the professionals is held together in the groups. Lunch Lunch in the full-day area is prepared fresh daily by our chef. The menu is announced at the beginning of the week. In the VÖ area, instead of lunch, there is a joint snack round with fruits and vegetables. Afternoon Snack The afternoon snack for the GT children is also provided by the childcare center and prepared fresh by our chef. Here too, there is a varied selection of meals.

Teamwork with school

In the last year of kindergarten before starting school, a special program for our "pre-school children team" takes place once a week. Here, we prepare the children for the transition to elementary school through small projects.The children's center has a cooperation with the Korb community school. This includes exchanges, job shadowing, and offerings from the cooperative teachers. Additionally, during the pre-school year, a visit to the elementary school takes place, as well as an informational evening for parents at the elementary school.

Teamwork with parents

A successful educational partnership is a prerequisite for good and individual developmental support for your child. We place particular importance on transparent educational work and regular communication with you as parents.

Parent Evening:

At the beginning of each kindergarten year, a joint parent evening is held. Here you will be informed about important topics. In addition, the election of parent representatives takes place on this evening.

Parent Council:

At the beginning of the kindergarten year, the parent council is elected from among the parents. The task of the parent council is to support the work in the daycare centers and to promote collaboration between the institution, parents, and the providers. In regular meetings, a trustworthy, honest, and constructive exchange takes place.

Parent Conversations:

At least once a year, we invite you to a personal development meeting about your child. In this meeting, your child and their individual development and skills are the focus. Additional parent-teacher meetings are held if needed.For short-term information exchanges, we are always available for brief drop-in conversations.ObservationsAs parents, you are welcome to observe in your child's group in consultation with the respective educational staff.

Specifics

Dental prophylaxis project with 4-5 year olds

Once a year, we carry out a dental prophylaxis project with our 4-5 year olds, which is accompanied by our "tooth dragons." The children learn the proper way to take care of their teeth in a playful manner. In addition, the children get to know the correct brushing technique, accompanied by songs, picture books, and other materials.

Preschool Children Team

This program takes place once a week across groups for our children in the final year of kindergarten before starting school. In targeted activities and projects, the children are prepared for the transition to elementary school. Special highlights in the final kindergarten year include a visit to the local fire department and a child-friendly first aid course.

"Screening Procedure 'Tipitukaakatu'

'Tipitukaakatu' is a standardized screening procedure developed by the municipality of Korb, which complements our Korber Developmental Checklist in the holistic observation of their children. 'Tipitukaakatu' has been specifically designed for preschool children and is conducted in small groups. At various stations, specific areas of development are addressed and worked on in a playful manner, which allows us to gain a more precise insight into the children's current developmental status.

Gym Day

Once a week, each group has a gym day in the on-site gymnasium. During this time, our specialists conduct targeted physical activities in small groups.During vacation periods, we also occasionally have the opportunity to spend the morning in the nearby ball sports hall.

Nature Day

Nature Days take place regularly in all groups. We then go out in the nearby surroundings of the children's center in groups. For example, we explore the nearby vineyards, the municipality of Korb, take walks in the surrounding orchards, and also enjoy having a picnic during the summer months.

Home Group

Once a month, a joint circle takes place with all the children of the children's center. This is intended to strengthen and promote community and cohesion.

Muesli Day and Shared Breakfast

Every week, the children's center has a Muesli Day. On these days, the children's center provides muesli for snack time. Once a month, Muesli Day turns into a shared breakfast, prepared for the children.
