Introduction/specifics

Our two-group nursery is located on the western edge of Korb in the Schaltenberg residential area.

Mouse group:  Toddler group for 10 children aged 1–3

Bear group:  Nursery group for 25 children aged 2.9–6

There are fixed pick-up times: 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The nursery offers the option of transferring children aged 3 from the toddler group to the nursery group.

The following childcare hours are offered in the two groups:

Nursery area:

Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Extended opening hours (VÖ6) with 30 hours per week.
Toddler area:

Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Extended opening hours (VÖ 6): 30 hours per week.

Lunch is not provided at our facility.

Rooms

The group rooms are lovingly and comfortably furnished and offer a soothing view of the garden.

Outdoor Facilities

Our nursery has a lovely outdoor area with a variety of play options.

Daily Schedule

Arrival: Welcoming children and parents, brief discussion about the child's well-being
Free play time: Children use the wide range of play materials and activity corners according to their own needs and interests  
Snack time: Kindergarten children eat when they feel hungry, while toddlers have a communal snack time
Singing circle: Singing together, storytelling, circle games, observing and listening to each other
Activities: Themes from the current planning unit are offered in free play, singing circle and domestic activities.
Garden time: With a wide variety of opportunities for exercise and exploring nature.
In the toddler group, these elements take place according to the age and developmental stage of the children. Security, a secure bond and intensive support in everyday life are particularly important to us.

Our mission statement

At our facility, children experience community and the joy of playing together. They learn about possibilities and boundaries in their interactions with each other. As a Protestant nursery school, the Christian mission is important to us. It shapes our work, which encompasses care, education and upbringing.

Our approach to working with children is based on Friedrich Fröbel's statement:

‘Education is example and love.’

Teamwork with parents

In our small, family-like facility, we value regular and open communication with parents during informal chats. As part of our work with parents, we hold development meetings, parents' evenings, joint celebrations and church services.

Specifics

Preschool: Preparation for school for future schoolchildren in close cooperation with the local primary school
Forest and meadow days: Spring/summer
Religious education units: We experience biblical stories, festivals, songs and prayers based on the church year
Development documentation using a portfolio: A portfolio is created for each child
