Introduction/specifics

Kita St. Markus - a house for all! 

In our four-group facility we accompany up to 100 children aged 2 years and 9 months at the earliest until they start school. Our inclusive concept is the basis for the interaction among and with each other. Everyone is welcome and is perceived in his or her whole personality.

This basic idea is implemented in an open concept with home groups. 

Experiencing nature is also a big part of our work, so there is the opportunity for the foxes (the preschoolers) to become naturalists and explore our environment 1 x a week. For all other children from the age of 4, there is the possibility to participate in the nature experience weeks that take place 4 times a year.

Check in in the morning and check out in the afternoon is done via the daycare app "Famly". Parents can use their smartphone to contact the group educators directly to sign their child out for the day. Information letters, reminders and meal plans are also sent directly to parents' cell phones via the app.

 

Food

We offer full board in our facility. The children are provided with a rich and varied breakfast buffet, a lunch freshly cooked at our facility according to DEG standards, and a healthy or sometimes especially tasty afternoon snack. Drinks are also provided, usually water or tea. 

Our birthday children are given special attention at lunch; each kindergarten child is allowed to create his or her own birthday menu in consultation with our cook.

Specifics

The basis of our pedagogical work is the situation-oriented approach. We place the child at the center and see our work as a holistic pedagogy. The starting point for all our actions are the needs of children of kindergarten age.

Learning in kindergarten is very different from learning in school. It means that each child has his or her own developmental time to develop certain skills into abilities, taking into account individual interests.


All functional areas offer the children the opportunity to experiment in order to learn about the (surrounding) world and not least about the interaction of forces.

All areas in the house and in the garden are functional areas and enable holistic learning. The aspects of the interior design are continued in the outdoor area.

We see ourselves as developmental companions and advocates for the child.

Our actions are not random and haphazard, but are the result of an interplay of very different influences. The children's impulses are taken up, a project develops from them, and the children are actively involved in the planning and preparation. At the same time, we as educators are constantly developing new learning impulses to encourage the children to research, think and develop independently.

The children are encouraged to actively engage with their environment.

For our kindergarten, the sentence "Help me to do it myself" according to Maria Montessori is in the foreground of our pedagogical efforts and, connected to this, the education of the children to independence.

Approaches of Reggio pedagogy - the child as discoverer - influence our daily work.

Admissions to our facility are generally graded according to the following criteria:

- Age of the child (children who are 3 years or older)

- Siblings

- Children with special care needs

- Families with special requirements

- Date of pre-registration
