The Protestant kindergarten Storchennest is the only half-day kindergarten in the Kandern district.
Our kindergarten is a single-group, mixed-age facility with a maximum of 25 children (a maximum of 6 children over the age of 2 can be admitted). There are three teachers in the facility during the main care period. The children can move over two floors and there is also a separate gym available to the children. We also have a manageable outdoor area that is used in a variety of ways. The forest can be reached in a very short time and is often visited for nature experiences.
What does it mean for us to be a Protestant kindergarten:
"God is love" (1 John 4:16). Respecting creation in all areas is important to us. The Protestant profile guides us to treat each other tolerantly. The children receive an offer of Christian life orientation and can have their own experiences. We will also respect children of other religions and consider differences as important.
Our everyday kindergarten life:
Your child can go to daycare in the morning from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the latest. to be brought. From this point on, your child plays in free play, combined with free play offers. At 9:00 a.m. we meet in the morning circle. There we live participation when a child leads the morning circle, we greet each other with a song, see what day it is, what the weather is like... The child chooses a game for everyone and we discuss the course of the day with its activities. The children then go to breakfast together in small groups. From around 10:00 a.m. the activities will be carried out in small, age-homogeneous groups. Afterwards, depending on the weather, we go to our outdoor area or do another short final circle. You can pick up your child between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Our pedagogy:
To pick up the children in their individual way and to see themselves more and more as part of a social group. For this, your child needs healthy self-confidence. For us, this means picking up and supporting the children in their motor, linguistic, musical and cognitive skills. This happens in free play, which is accompanied and accentuated by us. In addition, activities take place at a daily rhythm.
These include: gymnastics, creative activities, child-friendly environmental education, toy days, support for those starting school, Christian backgrounds are shown, eating and preparing food together and daily meetings in the entire group. We hold church services and teach the children about the seasonal church festivals. In addition, there are always parent meetings and parent information events. We can also visit the village playground, a beautiful forest area or the meadows in Holzen and the surrounding area in a very short time.
Education as we understand it:
We cannot take learning away from our children. They have to overcome this path with their own motivation and effort. We recognize education by the fact that the children use their knowledge when the opportunity arises and make use of it. Demand but don't overwhelm, that's our motto.
