Up to 100 mixed-age children can enjoy "their time in kindergarten" in the Catholic St. Josef kindergarten. There are 5 main groups - the mice, bugs, lions, bears and hedgehogs. Children are looked after there from the age of 3 until they start school.

A good settling-in period is particularly important to us, during which the children can settle in at their own pace and build a secure bond and good relationship with their primary caregiver. The partially open concept gives the children the opportunity to explore all the rooms and places of learning in the kindergarten. This also includes the large outdoor area where we spend a lot of time. In addition to play equipment, there are many vehicles and plenty of space, as well as a small kitchen garden.

During their time in kindergarten, the children belong to different project groups for one year at a time. There are the minis (with Klara Maus), the nature children and finally the maxis, our preschoolers. All children of the same year are grouped together in these groups. Age- and topic-related offers take place here regularly. For the younger ones, these are mainly in kindergarten. Until it reaches its climax with the regular school visits of the elementary school in the Maxi project. There has been a very good cooperation between kindergarten and Friedrich-Ebert-School for a long time, which makes the transition between kindergarten and school much easier for our Maxis.

The entire kindergarten year is characterized by the religious and seasonal cycle of the year, among other things, the Easter Bunny hops past and we celebrate St. Martin and Thanksgiving.                                                    Working with parents is an important part of our work. This includes daily door-to-door talks, as well as annual development talks, as well as parents' evenings or joint celebrations such as our outdoor service. For a number of years, we have received all important information via the Kita Info App. This is free for parents and can be installed very quickly. We are also very happy to have an active parents' council with constructive criticism. He also gets involved by organizing events such as a children's flea market.

For us at the St. Josef kindergarten, the children with their personality and their needs are the focus of our actions! We see ourselves as companions and want to promote and challenge them holistically so that they become independent, self-confident and social people!
