What is a movement-based daycare center?

A movement-based daycare center is a place for children where movement and perception form the educational principle and are understood as fundamental means of understanding and expression. In a stimulatingly prepared environment, as well as through targeted regular movement activities, children have the opportunity to experience their own bodies and senses. They are given enough space to explore and understand their world on their own.

Daily Schedule

Our Kindergarten Day Drop-off Time:

From 7:00 to 8:30 a.m.

Until 8:00 a.m., all children are cared for together in one group. From 8:00 a.m., all children go to their respective groups, have breakfast together there, and then start with a self-chosen activity.

Our Morning:

After breakfast, in addition to free play, various activities take place:

- Small group activities

- Water familiarization

- Kneipp therapy

- Gymnastics depending on age, in the building or in the TSV sports hall

- Circle time

- Nature days

- Hiking day

- Activities and excursions for the older children

First Pickup Time: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Lunch:

Our children staying for lunch meet from 11:45 a.m., divided into 2 groups, in our cafeteria for a shared meal. Afterwards, a rest period begins for the younger children, during which stories are read to them or they listen to CDs.

Afternoon drop-off time:

1:30 PM to 2:00 PM

Our afternoon:

In the afternoon, free play takes place in the group room or in the garden. Activities started in the morning are completed.

Afternoon pick-up time:

Mon. - Thu. 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Fri. 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Food

Catering
Our lunch is delivered frozen by Apetito and we heat it fresh on site. We participate in the EU School Fruit and Vegetable Program. Therefore, every two weeks we receive fruit, vegetables, and milk from the Biokuma grocery store in Babenhausen. Every Friday there is a healthy breakfast, which is prepared by the kindergarten staff together with the children. Drinks such as water, tea, and juice spritzers are provided by the daycare center.

Movement is the engine of development!

Children should and want to move. Children in motion does not just mean making children sweat – it refers to a holistic approach to movement education that makes movement (dreams) possible and allows them, so that children are supported in their personal development. Only in this way do they gradually experience their environment, build social contacts, make important observations about themselves and their bodies, and achieve progress in their social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development.

Our movement education work is guided by these needs of children. It involves imparting attitudes, motives, and strategies for action in a holistic learning process.
We work based on the principles of the Bavarian Education and Upbringing Plan to provide every child with the best opportunities for development and education.
